Henry opened his eyes, blinking in the misty grey light of early morning. He turned his head towards the window, squinting slightly. The sun hadn't come out yet, but he knew that it would -- and it would herald the beginning of an entirely new phase of his life.

Last night with Will had been amazing. Their relationship was off to a great start, and he was eager for them to get to know each other much, much better.

And they would, he promised himself with a smile. Last night was only the beginning. He had gone from sinking into a deep depression and wondering if he'd done the right thing with his life, to feeling as though he'd been wrapped in the warm embrace of the sun.

Will's entrance into his life had changed everything.

He had no doubts whatsoever that breaking up with Jane and living his own life had been the right thing for him to do. No longer would he be bossed around, told what to do and how to think -- and no longer would be let himself give in to that dominant attitude.

He'd spent too long being Jane's lapdog, simply because he hadn't known quite how to get out of a relationship that he'd long ago outgrown and didn't want to be in any more. By the time he'd finally left her, he had been in danger of losing his identity -- and his self-respect.

But now, he had a whole new lease on life. He was sure that Will would never be the kind of person who would ride roughshod over his feelings, as Jane had. Will would always be willing to compromise; their relationship would never be a "my way or the highway" kind of deal.

Jane had wanted to dominate him in every aspect, to get her way all the time. Will would never do that; he was the kind fo man who would always want to work things out with his lover. Their relationship would be one of sharing, not one of follow-the-leader.

That was how he wanted it. How it should be.

Will was the sun coming out in his life, sending out rays of warmth and strength, helping him to grow instead of constantly holding him back. From now on, his life was going to be different in so many ways -- and he was sure that all of them wold be for the better.

Henry rolled over onto his side, propping himself up on one elbow and gazing down at Will. He reached out to brush a lock of hair back from Will's face, smiling as he did so.

Today was the beginning of a whole new life for him, a life that would be filled with sunshine and love, instead of so much darkness and uncertainty. It might not be a perfect life, but it would be a good one. And he could hardly wait for that life to kick into high gear.
