Spencer stood in the corner, shifting his weight nervously. He knew he was about to get spanked by both Hotch and Gideon. It was going to hurt he knew, but he couldn't stand the fact that he'd disappointed both older men. He looked up to them, but now he felt—well ill.

He couldn't believe that he had yelled at them "insubordination" or what have you. All they did was ask him how he was doing…he had snapped at Gideon first with an "I'm fine! I'm not a child, you don't have to act as if you care!" This had produced a gruff "Spencer Reid—get out of this mood now or you won't like the consequences." Hotch had then come over, looking concerned. Not wanting either Gideon or Spencer to boil over in the bull pen, he placed an arm on Gideon's shoulder. Gideon nodded that he would not make a scene—at least not here.

"Dr. Reid, I suggest that you finish up your reports and then take the rest of the day off" Hotchner suggested—daring Spencer to argue.

"It's only 2:30! I will not! You two are always bullying me! Spencer do this, Spencer do that, use that brain of yours. Well I am SICK of it! I'm not some baby that needs a nap because I'm cranky."

"You're a genius that's about to get spanked in front of his coworkers," Hotch replied, clearly trying to end the tirade.

At that, Reid blushed, mumbled, almost gave in, but then continued to rant, much to Hotch and Gideon's dismay.

"It's been a hard case. Go home now. Finish tomorrow," Hotch ordered.

"No, I will not. I will not be treated this way!"

Then suddenly, there was a loud crack! and Spencer hopped into the air. Gideon nodded at him as Reid blushed. "Spencer get your things and get going. I expect to find you in the corner of my living room when I get home. You still have the key?"

"Yes, I do but—"

"Now."

Spencer nearly ran to pick up his things and hastily retreated.

Hotch looked at Gideon, "well what are you planning to do to our boy wonder?"

"You and I are going to spank him for his outburst and then profile him until we figure out what's wrong with him."

Hotch nodded and went to tell everyone that he and Gideon were taking a late lunch. When they entered Gideon's house Spencer was thankfully there.

"I see that you made it here safely," Gideon said.

Spencer shifted, "Yes, sir. I'm sorry…" Spencer wanted to turn around, but decided, nose to corner was better or at the very least safer.

"Would you like to tell us what's going on that led us to this?" Hotch asked.

"I would like to not be treated like a CHILD. That's what led to this."

"To us, you are a child. And you act like one! If you want to be treated like an adult, act like one Spencer." Gideon shook his head. "Come here Dr. Spencer Reid."

Spencer turned around, keeping his head down and slowly approaching Gideon.

"Jason, I'm sorry," he whispered.

"Not yet," Gideon stated. Gideon sat on the sofa. "Come here young man."

Spencer reluctantly followed. "Pants and underwear down."

"But…"

"Do not make him repeat it again," Hotch ordered.

Reid looked like he was about to burst into tears and he slowly lowered his pants and underwear. He thought he was going to pass out just as Gideon took hold of him and swung him over his lap.

"NOO. Please! Don't!"

Gideon delivered the first smack and then continued the assault. "You should have avoided this at all costs. This is not your first time in this position. How dare you make a scene at work! I'm very disappointed in you.

Reid started crying and apologizing quickly.

"It's not going to be that easy young man."

Reid started pleading as the Gideon's pace increased. The young man's butt began turning red.

"You have no right to treat Hotch and I with the disrespect you showed."

Reid started mewling and Gideon stopped. "Hotch it's your turn."

Reid cried out—a shriek "no!" but to no avail. He was stood up, and was suddenly shoved back over this time Hotch's lap. Hotch was holding a belt. "No!" Reid yelled and tried to jerk himself back up.

Hotch fought against his struggles and pinned him. "Spencer stop this at once. You behaved deplorably and this is the consequence."

Reid cried out at the first strike of the belt. And then the second hit. Reid panicked, his breathing heavy. Gideon came around and took one of his hands and began shushing him. Hotch continued with a nod from Gideon. Reid's butt was now fluorescent, he was sobbing with gusto and angst.

"I. Am. So. Sorry!" he gasped as his butt when further in the air, and the underside began to get hit. "NOOOO... So Sorry! So Sorry!"

Hotch finished up with a loud resounding smack of the belt. He pulled Spencer back up and shuffled him back into the corner, his red bottom on display.

Gideon and Hotch watched Spencer sob, feeling guilty that they'd just spanked him so hard, despite it being necessary. Gideon went to cook lunch, and Hotch sat on the sofa staring at the wall in front of him, trying to decide how to start the next conversation. "You can come out of the corner now. Pull up your pants, and then come talk to me." Spencer did as he was told, even though he winced as he righted his clothes.

Gideon came back into the room with sandwiches and chips. He had Spencer sit on the floor using his coffee table to hold his plate as the two older agents were both sitting on the sofa. "Now explain yourself."

"I'm not sure I can. Everyone gets treated like an equal except me. On our last mission I was the only one that got hugged, from everyone."

"You screamed I need a hug, between looking malnourished and young. What else?" Gideon asked.

"Morgan basically told me that the only reason I was still in the BAU was because of your and Hotch's pity on me."

Hotch looked up, "he said that?"

"Well, that was it basically… not exact words. He wasn't trying to be an ass but it's true. Most agents would have had formal disciplinary proceeding, and I get a spanking from my two bosses."

"Spencer we're family. This happened because we are a family—we're all very lucky to have each other. You are a great asset to the team—despite your temper tantrums," Hotch explained.

Gideon nodded, "exactly. We are a team. You kiddo might try too hard to be part of it sometimes—but we are all in this together."

Reid took a bite of his sandwich, looking dangerously young.

"Spencer, eat, then go take a nap. We have some unfinished business at work."

Spencer nodded, "yes sir."
