Prompt #5 If I am not worth the wooing, I am surely not worth the winning. By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A/N: Wow, I didn't realize how rusty I was at this. So I hope that you enjoy this and try not to be too hard on me. Also I didn't have this read by a beta, so all mistakes are mine.

Penelope Garcia opened her door and quickly moved to the counter.  She just made it as her armful of mail and packages dropped to the counter.  She stared at the pile for a moment, contemplating what to do next.  She was exhausted, as it had been a long week at work, and she was beginning to loose her second, no make that twentieth wind.

She decided to ignore the mail and instead went to check her answering machine.  She knew that there wouldn't be anything too important on it, since most people knew to use her cell if she wasn’t at home.  She hit play as she went over to the fridge to look for something to drink.  The messages played, most of them being dial tones, but one caught her attention.

"Hi Penny it's mom.  I’m calling to tell you that Uly and Genevieve are having a baby.  I'm going to be a grandmother.  How exciting is that? Call me when you get a chance so that I can tell you all about it.  Love you."

Penelope stared at the machine, not really believing the words.  Her big brother, married two years, was having a baby.  She was briefly reminded of the time Hotch had brought his son into the BAU, and how her heart had done a funny flip while looking at the baby.  She had never been overly maternal, but she felt the stirring occasionally.

She gave a little sigh and headed back to her room.  She knew that deep in her heart she loved Derek Morgan.  The compliments, the endearments, the ease of talking and being with him had slowly claimed her, and she was under his spell.  She could easily imagine all the ladies that had fallen for him, which was why she worked so hard to appear unaffected and equally flirtatious, firing back her own, hoping to ensnare in him in her trap as he had her.  He had wormed his way into her heart and thoughts, and she didn't know how to get rid of him, even if she wanted to.  How do you not fall for a guy who comes over in his free time to help you clean out your gutters, or who buys you very expensive and very much appreciated security upgrades for your computer?

She knows that he doesn't do it on purpose; he is just being his normal self.  But sometimes she just wished that he would look up and realize that he wants to be more than friends.  That she could be the one that he loves and wants to spend his life with.

Penelope shook her head trying to dislodge the depressing thoughts.  The last thing she really needed was to obsess over Morgan.  He was her buddy and pal, and she needed to leave it at that.  Besides anyone who would woo her, even subconsciously must know that she was worth the winning.  So maybe it was time that she did a little wooing of her own, and who knows, they may both realizing that the winning is the best part of the wooing.
