Greg looked down at the headstone in front of him, feeling nostalgic.

Jonah was just a memory now. Yes, Greg had loved him, but he could finally manage to put those feelings behind him. That relationship was over and done with.

He would always remember Jonah fondly, and a corner of his heart would always be reserved for the man who had loved him so much. A part of him would always love Jonah, and he would always feel saddened by the knowledge that his life, and their future, had been cut short.

But Jonah wouldn't want him to grieve forever. He would have wanted Greg to do just what he was doing, and get on with his life.

He would have wanted Greg to be with Nick.

Jonah had known that he was loved. Greg couldn't doubt that. But he had also known that Greg had never gotten over Nick in the time that they were together.

He'd even told Nick that Greg still loved him. Jonah had wanted to marry him, but had been willing to let him follow his heart, if that heart had led him back to Nick. Greg admired him for that; Jonah had been willing to give up his happiness to ensure that Greg found his own.

Not many people had a heart that generous, that giving.

He could hold on to those memories that he'd made with Jonah, memories that would last a lifetime. But he had to leave them in the past now, and move ahead with his life. He'd been doing that, step by slow step, and now he felt that he was finally ready to let go completely.

He would always remember Jonah, and always hold him in his heart. But he had to become nothing more than a fond memory now. Greg had to say goodbye to him for good.

This was the last time he'd be coming here for a very long time.

Sighing softly, he stood up, looking down at the flowers that he'd left on Jonah's grave. "Goodbye, love," he whispered, touching his hand to his heart. "I'll miss you."

Then he turned and walked away, knowing that he was doing the right thing for himself by turning his back on the past and only letting it live in his memories. He was moving ahead to a new life with Nick, a better life than what the two of them had in the past.

He would always have good memories of his past with Jonah. But now it was time to make new memories with Nick, memories that would last a lifetime.

Those memories would be the ones that would stay first and foremost in his heart.

Greg couldn't hold back an eager smile. He could hardly wait to get started.
