Sara was leaning into the shadowy corner reading a report. This spot was used by many to read things of interest in the hall because it allowed a person to get out of the traffic flow and stop. It had one more advantage in that from certain areas in the hall the person was hidden from view, a mere shadow.

The last few nights had been so slow that everyone was now past the talking-in-the-hall-to-pass-the-time stage. The office as a whole was in that quiet-do-the-busy-work-and-time-will-fly-by stage, they hoped.

So when the supply room door was opened, the sound caught Sara's attention. She watched as Gil poked his head out then scanned the hall like a kid sneaking out of his bedroom or helping someone else to sneak out. He turned back then started walking toward his office. Jim followed him. The next few seconds crashed over her as she watched them cross the hall and enter Gil's office.

She ran for the one place that could give her a safe hiding place, the forms room. She rushed past the shelves to the back where boxes would give her a place to hide. The sobs had already broken free before she could reach this place, but she had trapped most of the sound with her hands. Now she just let go, sobbing almost to the point of losing her breath as the picture of her prefect man was now cracked and shattering in her mind. Time for her came to a stand still as her mind played the crossing of the hallway over and over.

"Sara, Sara, where are you? Are you okay?" The concerned voice called out.

Sara once more used her hands to try and cover the noise that she was making at the sound of Lisa calling out to her. Sara tried to bring herself under control as she heard Lisa coming closer. But it wasn't working very well. Lisa, the clerical night supervisor whom had transferred from Homicide, was her friend, but how could she tell her this?

Finally with great effort Sara answered, "I'm okay. I just need…need to be alone."

Lisa had reached Sara, "What's wrong? You wouldn't be crying if things were okay. We're friends, right?

All Sara could manage was a nod of her head as Lisa looked at her. Lisa moved so that Sara was forced to look at her.

"Please let me help. I'm a good listener and keeper of secrets. I had hoped that you knew that by now. What's made you cry Sara?" Lisa pushed Sara's hair back and let her hand lightly touch Sara's tear streaked cheek.

"I saw something I wasn't supposed to see. Gil, Jim, they, no, I can't!" then Sara's iron control once more lost out to her sobs.

Lisa moved next to Sara. She wrapped her arm around her sobbing co- worker pulling Sara close. Lisa moved Sara's head to lie on her shoulder until the sobs softened a little. She rubbed her friend's back in a comforting motion. Lisa started to talk only when she thought Sara emotional turmoil had settled down enough to hear her words.

"It's just you and me here. I locked the door. I promise not to reveal to anyone what you say. Now slowly, tell me what happened," Lisa whispered in a calming voice.

"I saw them come out of the supply room without any supplies." Sara managed to finally say.

"Is that all?" Lisa asked softly

"Jim swatted Gil's ass." Sara struggled to get it out, adding more as soon as she could. "I thought I heard Gil say something like 'behave', 'send home' then they were in the office."

Lisa gently glided Sara's chin so that she could look into her friend's saddened eyes. "I'm so sorry. I just presumed that you knew about them, that someone in the lab would've told you. Over at Homicide it one of those 'don't tell' things but was common knowledge that they lived together even before the Captain was sent back to the homicide department. The way I heard it was that he just kept a place for show while he was here in the Crime Lab, being Grissom's supervisor and all." Lisa took a calming breath before continuing, "I always figure your crush was…you know a school girl kind of thing, the way some women just have crushes on their bosses or how some women think they can change a gay man. I never dreamed that you really thought he was available." Lisa locked eyes with Sara, "Please forgive me, if only I had realized that you didn't know that Grissom was gay, I would've told you. I'm sorry, this was a horrible way to find out."

Sara did a slight smile momentarily, "It's not your fault. I just wish they had told me when I first came. I've mooned over him for years and none of the team clued me in. I'm such a mess right now."

"You need to go home now and give yourself some time to come to terms with this all. Why don't you let me handle Grissom? I'll tell him you're sick and I'm taking you home, okay? I'm the clerical supervisor and I can hint that it's a female problem so he'll let me handle it." Lisa smiled and pushed Sara's hair back on the other side, her hand lightly bushed that cheek. She lifted Sara's chin to make sure it was alright.

"Could you get my bag and jacket out of my locker for me?"

"Sure. I'm going to go talk to Grissom then I'll go by the locker room. I'll come get you after I have all of our things. You wait here, okay?"

Sara lead back sitting on the edge of a box, "Thanks."

Lisa made a move to leave then stopped, "Sara, I need the combination."

Sara pulled the note pad from her pocket, wrote the combination on it then handed the slip of paper to Lisa.

Lisa left and headed straight for Grissom's office. This is the second time that she would be talking with Gil Grissom on a non- direct work issue. She had only been in the new position about a month when he drilled her on the now famous Nick & Greg dinner joke. Now several months later she was the one that was about to drill him, in a way. He was technically her boss on the nightshift but he rarely involved himself with the clerical side. He left that for the paper trial boss which was the dayshift clerical supervisor.

Now, she was about to step into a mine field. She stopped in the restroom to make sure she was all together and there were no signs left of having had Sara crying on her shoulder. She had a heart to heart with herself as she stared into the mirror. Sara had been the one person that she had been drawn to. She saw the brunette haired CSI as someone who needed a friend as much as she needed one. She saw loneliness in Sara that called out. They had shared many breaks, lunches, breakfasts and even a few of their mutual nights off together over months that she had been here. She felt like she was one of a very few people whoever got to see Sara smile and it was so beautiful when it happened. Now, here she was falling in love with her friend, a straight woman who thought she was also straight. With the prize so high, she braced herself for the big role of the dice that she was about to take.

Lisa knocked on Gil Grissom's closed office door.

"Come in."

Lisa opened the door and stepped quickly in, stopping in front of Grissom's desk.

"I'll get going," Jim said as he started to move to get up.

Lisa quickly turned, "Captain, you don't need to leave because of me."

Gil's and Jim's eyes met as silent words passed between them then Gil nodded for Jim to stay. At last he motioned for Lisa to sit, "what can I do for you?" Gil finally asked of her.

"I came to let you know that Sara isn't feeling well and I'm going to take her home." Lisa tried to make it sound as matter as fact as she could.

"I can do it, and I'm her supervisor, not you. Where is she?" Gil replied.

"I really think it would be better for me to do it, this time. It's a woman thing," Lisa had been locked in eye contact with Grissom up to this moment but now she realized that the only way he would let her take care of Sara was if she told the real reason. With a quick glance at the captain she returned to face Grissom, "no, it's more than that." Lisa took a calming breath then sped forward, "It's a supply room-hallway-swat-the ass-words kind of thing." Lisa blurted out.

Jim's head snapped up as he looked straight at Gil his eyes blazing, "I thought you said you talked with her?"

"I did talk with her and things have been fine." Gil glanced to Jim then turned back to Lisa as she slowly shook her head, "I thought they were, at least her behavior changed around me." Gil's eyes bounced between the two other people in the room with him.

"Gil!" Jim's voice held that important question, the one that Gil had been avoiding.

Gil's eyes snapped to his lover whom he had mislead on this issue, "No, I didn't tell her about us specifically. Or that!"

Lisa quietly spoke, "and now she's shattering which is why I need to take her home."

Jim spoke before Gil could, "And you will be taking her home, not Gil."

Gil added, "Jim's right. Please call me if you need anything."

Lisa looked at Gil as she rolled one more time, "I'm sure you remember that I'm going on vacation. I'm going out of town to my family's cabin and I want to ask Sara to go with me. I think getting her away for a few days will help. She'll need the same time off. Is that possible?"

Gil clicked the calendar up on the computer then looked to Jim and back to the calendar as he weighted the possible workload against peace at home. "I'll work it out if she wants to go but…" Gil eyes met with Jim, "…I want her to leave me a voicemail message, ok?" Both Jim and Lisa nodded their heads in agreement.

Lisa stood, "Thanks, Mr. Grissom" and she left the two men in the office. It took only a few minutes in the locker room and then her office before she was on her way to get Sara.

Jim stood and moved over to Gil, pulling a chair close to him. "You, my wonderful lover have a big problem." His voice loving but firm as he continued, "your CSIs are adults and not, repeat not, your kids. They have to learn to live their lives. You can't protect them from themselves. When you do try this is what happens." Jim pulled Gil into a loving kiss before continuing. "Now, let's try this one more time. Repeat after me 'I will not play daddy to my CSIs'."

Gil's eyes glisten with the held back tears, "I will not play daddy to my CSIs, only big brother?" He asked with a raised brow.

"Gil"

"I will not play daddy to my CSIs, I will not play daddy to my CSIs, I will not play daddy to my CSIs, I will not play daddy to my CSIs, I will not play daddy to my CSIs, I will not play daddy to my CSIs." Gil paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "I know I made it worse, it's just I really thought someone else had told her. That day I just couldn't say it! 'Sara, I'm gay, you just don't have the right body parts.' Then, she started dating so I thought that was the end of it. I guess it wasn't, I'm sorry she found out like this."

Jim was holding his lover's hands and looking lovingly into his eyes, "I love you and I know that your people are your family but sometimes you have to say the hard things and do the hard things. Lisa is a good person and if anyone can get through to Sara she will. I just have this feeling. Now, let's go home. Catherine can take over for you. It's a slow night and barely more than an hour to go. I think my lover needs some TLC even if he was a bad boy."

"You're right, I do need some TLC even though I don't deserve it at the moment." Gil picked up the phone, "Hey Catherine,"…"I'm leaving now. You have the rest of the shift. Oh, and Sara left."…"see you later, bye."

The two men left a few minutes later. They walked out to their cars and drove home. They talked and loved each other, working on one of their issues, just like any couple can face from time to time.

Lisa pulled into the restaurant for breakfast. Sara looked over questioning, but Lisa just smiled and led her in. They got a booth in the back. As Sara sat down Lisa motioned for her to slide over.

Lisa said in answer to Sara's questioning look, "I need to talk with you." With that Sara made room for Lisa.

Lisa started the important talk after they ordered and had their drinks.

"I wanted to talk before I took you home. I'm on vacation as of tonight. I'm supposed to leave later today for a week at my family's cabin at Lake Tahoe. I was hoping maybe you would like to come with me. It would do you some good to get away. What do say? Want to come?"

"I have to work, and I'm afraid I won't be very good company." Sara softly answered.

Lisa smiled and leaned her shoulder into Sara, "Let me worry about what kind of company you will be or not be. As for the time off, I sort of, okay I took it upon myself to ask Grissom to give you the time off. I know it was presumptuous but, I told him you needed it for a personal problem. He said if you want it you just have to leave a voicemail and he'll take care of it. So will you come with me?" At Sara hesitation Lisa added, "Please you'll have fun, we'll have fun. I promise. And you can talk or not talk all you want."

The waitress sat their food down at that moment. The two ate in silence as Sara thought about the offer.

"Sure, I'll go. Remember I warned you about my mood."

Lisa smiled "It will be fun, really, you'll love it. Would you be willing to help me with the driving?"

"Sure."

The two women soon finished their food and were off for Lisa's home. They made quick work of loading what was left to load into Lisa's Escape. Next it was Sara's apartment. They quickly packed her things then she called and left the message on Gil's office number before walking out the door.

Sara offered to drive the first part as suddenly she felt wide awake.

Lisa climbed into the passenger side and at first talked with Sara about the plans for the week at the cabin. She started with how the repairmen would be at the cabin early the next morning to fix the broken heating system and continued with Saturday's party, adding a bunch of her friends would be joining them for the weekend. That would leave Friday, Monday and Tuesday for them to do whatever Sara wanted to do. She drifted off to sleep about thirty minutes into the trip.

By the time Sara drove into Tonopah she was a little bit hungry and tired. This town was about half way between Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. Lisa took over the driving after they had gotten a bite to eat and stretched their legs.

Sara stared out of the passenger side window as they continued their journey northward. The landscape flowed by as her mind wondered back over time. Looking back with her new knowledge laid open, she saw all the little things that she had blinded herself to. Very softly Sara would mutter, "stupid", "blind fool", "shit". She wasn't even aware that she was vocalizing them.

Remembering, the flow of landscape and the soft music lulled her into a light but fitful sleep. After Lisa realized that her friend was a sleep she would coo words of comfort when she felt Sara needed it. That seemed to help quiet her friend back down into a more restful sleep for awhile.

Lisa changed from the CDs to the radio as they near the cabin. The weather had started cooling rapidly during the last hour and she wanted to catch the news. She had checked last night and the temperatures were suppose to be in the high 50's for the night but it felt colder than that already. Now she wondered if getting a room for the night was in order what with the cabin's heating system broken and the coldness coming off the window.

Sara started to stir with the change in noise. She slowly sat up straight and stretched as much as she could in the seat. The news on the radio and the blanket that now lay on her caused Sara to question Lisa.

"What's going on?"

"It turned cold, colder than the weather had said it would be." Lisa answered

Sara heard the worry in Lisa's voice and now understood as the weather report told of a sudden fast moving cold front coming in. "Is there a fireplace in the cabin?"

"Yes, and we have wood but maybe we should get a motel tonight, to be on the safe side," Lisa glanced over at Sara. "What do you think?"

Sara smiled then spoke, "I think the wood would be of more use if we had it with us instead of it still being back on the floor in the garage." With kind of a snicker Sara added, "That's the last place I saw it as I stepped around it to get into the car."

"Shit!"

"It's your family's cabin right? Don't you keep wood at it?"

"Part of the reason I had to get up here was the repair work and the other was the delivery of the new wood stock. The rest of the family used the last of it up a couple of weeks ago." Lisa pulled into a small shopping area. She turned in her seat to look at Sara, "Okay, here are our choices, motel for the night or, if we can find some wood, then we could risk the cabin. It's up to you."

Sara thought about the report and weighing all the risk. "I say we go for the wood and the cabin with the motel as a last resort."

Lisa opened the car door as she added, "I was hoping you'd say that."

Lisa headed for the hardware store with Sara following close behind. They lucked out and were able to get some wood for the night. After eating dinner and then grabbing a few more things they drove off. Less than twenty minutes later they were pulling up to the cabin.

Sara was overwhelmed as she looked at it. It was huge. She figured it would be one of those small little cabins with open rooms like in the movies. But this was a huge two story house. Yes, a log house and it must have three or four bedrooms, maybe even more than one little bathroom.

Lisa couldn't help but smile as she watched her friend. She pulled to a stop as close as possible to the front door.

"Come on let's get this thing unloaded."

"Lisa, this is no cabin. This is a beautiful home." Sara said as she moved out of the car and walked to the back end.

The two women had everything out of the vehicle and into the living room in minutes, the cold inspiring them to move quickly. Lisa, with Sara's help, had a fire started in the fireplace before she went back out to move the car into the garage. While Lisa took care of the car Sara started to put the food away, what she couldn't find a place for she left on the kitchen table.

Lisa walked into the kitchen from what she called the access area. In there was a door that let out an enclosed walkway then on to the garage. The wood, when they had any was kept in the enclosed walkway. There were also stairs that led to a finished basement where on this end were the heating system and laundry area as well as storage. She had two big bags in her hands as she entered the room.

Lisa explained that with the cold she felt it would be best if they slept in front of the fireplace. She had gone to the basement and gotten an air mattress and bedding from the basement storage room. She set the mattress out and started it filling. She then turned her attention to helping Sara with putting the rest of the food away.

Once that was done they picked up their bags and suitcases then headed for the master bedroom that they would be sharing when the everyone else arrived in two or three days. Lisa continued the tour showing Sara another master bedroom, a small bedroom, an office/reading room, the media room and the bathroom. The staircase was pointed out. It led to the attic dorm room as well as down to the basement. The basement was finished off but had an open floor plan that served a number of uses.

Back in the living room area the bed was filled. They quickly got the bedding on it then pushed the couches and chairs up close to it. They had changed into their sweats for the very cold night that it was becoming.

Both were tired from the day's activity. They settled into the bubble of warmth that the furniture and fireplace created. The two friends talked quietly of many things before drifting off to sleep.

Each woman dreamed an erotic dream and before long their bodies moved closer. Arms and legs intertwined as each dreamed of being with a lover. Lips at last found each other, barely a touch at first. Then the battles of tongues woke Sara, her eyes blinked as she broke from the kiss. She watched as her friend became aware. Then both were trying to speaking in the same moment. They stammered sorry, dream, then laughed but never parted their bodies.

"Sara" Lisa whispered, "Have you ever kissed a woman before?"

"Not like that." Sara blushed, a little.

"I have to be honest with you about something. You know how I've talked about my ex Sam, well, it's Samantha. I let you believe it was a man because I was afraid."

"What were you afraid of? Did I make you feel like it would change our friendship?"

"No, but I was afraid, like Grissom was afraid to open up that part himself to you. Oh, Sara, I'm so sorry. I have to tell you the whole truth about the meeting with Grissom. I didn't give details and I did try to say it was a female thing but I ended up saying it was a supply room-hallway-swat-words kind of thing. And Brass was angry with Grissom about the talk where he was suppose to tell you about them and didn't. I used it to my advantage. I'm sorry."

"What do you mean?" Sara was confused.

"I used the thing going on between Grissom and Brass to get you the time off. But I really did think this would be good for you to get away. I saw your pain and thought I could help. I value our friendship." Lisa ran her hand along Sara's check, caressing it softly. "I hadn't planned or expected this but I really would like to kiss you again. Just say stop and that will be the end of it, because I don't want to lose you as a friend."

"I realized something about Gil on the drive. The crush had more to do with trust than love. Gil makes me feel totally safe. I don't feel that doubt that I feel with everyone. I'm always on my guard, even around the rest of the CSI team. It's only around Gil…and you that I really lose that feeling." Sara moved touching her lips to Lisa's lips.

The kiss was light. They parted. No words were spoken as their eyes and hearts did all the talking. Once more their lips met for a kiss then another and another. They gasped in air as they parted. Lisa moved out of the bed and put more wood on the cooling fire in the fireplace. She hoped the break would calm the roaring one in her.

Returning to Sara and the bed Lisa spoke, "Are you sure? I don't want to take advantage of your hurting." Lisa stared into the beautiful brown eyes. She searched for any signs of hesitation or doubt. She waited for Sara to answer.

Sara rolled on her back as she tried to pull her thoughts and feelings together then form them into words, "I trust you or I wouldn't have come with you. As for the hurting, well, it feels more like stupidity at the moment." Turning back to face Lisa, "I've never done this with a woman, I never even thought about it before. I already lost myself in the kissing once. The feel of our bodies touching, my mind, heart and body are all in turmoil. I want to cuddle and kiss some more but I'm not sure I'm ready to go past that at the moment. Plus I'm still a little tired and would love to go back to sleep, but in your arms, if that's okay?"

"Of course, it's okay. You've been through a lot in the last twenty- four hours." Lisa pulled Sara to her where they shared a few kisses then settled down to sleep. Sara snuggled into the warmth, safety and love that she felt in Lisa's arms. Soon both women drifted into a very peaceful and restful sleep as the snow started lightly falling outside.

Hours later the two women woke to a bed of embers in the fireplace. Lisa scrabbled out of the bed and put some kindling and a couple of split oak logs on. It didn't take long for the embers to ignite the kindling then jump to the dry oak. In a short time the heat was pouring out of the fireplace. Sara made a dash to the bathroom and jumped back into the warm bed as Lisa made the same trip.

Lisa looked at the clock and grumbled for she saw that they needed to get dressed as the repairmen would be here shortly. A bucket of water they had placed next to the fireplace last night was warmed up nicely. They used it for washing up. Taking turns on getting clothes, washing, fixing breakfast and jumping back into the warm bed they manage to get ready while still staying fairly warm. They sat on the bed their backs against the couch and ate.

Lisa took the HVAC repairmen down to the utility room in the basement. Leaving them to their work, she returned upstairs. Her timing was great as the wood delivery truck was just pulling in. The two women had walked outside together, going out through the access area to open the doors to the covered walk way. Lisa was grateful that her dad had paid for inside delivery which included the delivery guys stacking the wood rather then just dumping it in the yard. Sara took a walk, leaving Lisa to deal with the wood delivery and the repairmen

It was cold but Sara needed time to think. Sara thought about her life as she walked. Memories of the highs and lows, the disappointment, moments of happiness that were few and far between. What Gil was to her, boss, friend or mentor. Roaming over the rest of her night shift co-workers, fellow CSIs and the lab rats, she try to put the pieces together. She thought about high school, college and 'dates'. All the decisions and choices that she felt changed her life flowed through her thoughts as she walked the wooded paths. Returning to the cabin she stopped on the back porch. Sara sat on the swing and began to gently glide to and fro, her thoughts still flowing.

Lisa saw her out the window just after the workmen had left. She fixed two cups of hot chocolate and carried them out. She joined her friend on the bench after handing Sara one of the cups. They just sat enjoying the calm feeling that came over the two friends.

Finally Sara spoke, "Things have never been easy for me when it came to lovers. The men I tend to attract are never really the relationship type. They were more of what a gay friend would call a 'fuck buddies'. I never really opened up to them or even trusted them. I just had sex with them and went on dates. My heart wasn't really part of it. I cared in my way but only a little." As she had spoken all this she stared at the landscape. Now she turned to face Lisa as she continued. "Last night was so much more. I felt as if you could see into me, and you wanted to still be there with me. It was as if you peeked in the window and were asking to see more. Maybe even come in the door. You didn't run away but you would have let me run. I guess it was the openness, honesty that you offered that kept me there. I don't think anyone has ever offered it to me before. They've tried to take it, demanded it of me but never just gave it willingly. Thank You."

Sara leaned toward Lisa their eyes closed as she kissed the woman that offered so much without asking for a thing. Sara then sat back and their eyes locked as Lisa let her continue.

"I'm terrified that I'll ruin the friendship."

Lisa took hold of her friend's hand in support. She had so much she wanted to say but she knew that her friend needed to finish. So she waited.

Taking a calming breath Sara continued, "I want to give us chance. You'll need to teach me, take it slow. One day at time is what I need, okay?"

This time Lisa is the one that placed first a gentle kiss then moved her hand to pull her new lover into a demanding one. When they broke from the kiss and Lisa had her voice back she said, "We'll go one moment, one day, one week at a time. Just know that if you need to stop or slow down all you need to do is tell me. Okay?" Sara nodded her head, "Promise me you'll always tell me how you really feel. No hiding."

Sara smiled, "I promise to always try. I've never been very good at this sharing of feelings thing. But with you it's a little easier." Sara scooted so that she could lay her head on Lisa's shoulder, "I think I need to go in. I'm starting to get cold."

They headed in, walking together, arms around each others waist until they had to part at the door. Striping their coats off, they hung them on the wall hooks in the drying area where they also left their shoes. Hand in hand they headed for the kitchen and lunch.

It was nearly three o'clock by the time Sara yawned. They had spent the time having lunch and prepping what food that they could for the weekend.

Lisa smiled, "You want to take a nap?"

"I'm tired. I guess the walk…" Sara kissed Lisa lightly, "…and the peaceful, loving environment has made me a little sleepily. Are you going to join me? In front of the fireplace?"

"They said it will take 24 hours for the heating system to get this place back to normal. The water tank was ice cold but they said we should have enough hot water for a bath tonight. So I figured we would hang out in front of the fireplace. I did put the two small electric heaters that I found in the basement up here. I put one in the center hallway and one in our bathroom. I would've done that last night but I forgot they were down there. We haven't needed them in so long."

Sara added more logs to the fire while Lisa got drinks for them. The music played softly. They settled down on the bed in front of the fire. Sara started the kisses as she moved to cuddled up to Lisa. A sensual dance had started between the two friends as their bodies called to each other. Their hands started mapping each other right through their clothes.

Moans crept from Sara as hands caressed over her pants, a squeeze of her ass. A soft touch up her back over the top of her shirt as lips melted into each other. She leaned into the touches. Her own hands now needing to move, they trail down the soft shirted back, down over the jeans covered ass and back up. She was lost in the feel of it all. Then she felt the hand on her breast and her body answered with a shiver in spite of the material between the hand and her skin.

"Sara, may I?" was whispered softly into her ear as her lover's hand reached for the front of her pants.

It continued when not only did Sara not say no but she moved to give it more access. The hand disappeared into her underwear as it explored the unknown region. Lisa's tongue explored the warm cavern that was becoming a second home to it. The fingers wondered through the soft bush to find the valley between the lips seeking the sweet moisture. A slightly dip into the moist valley before moving to find the love bud. Once the fingers found the treasure they worked to bring forth a symphony of love music. Sounds of pleasure helped her lover learn just how to move her fingers. Sara's body soon quaked in ecstasy as her orgasm over came her. Lisa held her close as her body calmed. She was being lulled to sleep with gentle and soft caresses.

Sara whispered, "no clothes, please no clothes…" her eyes fluttered open "…need to feel skin…" She fought sleep, "…your skin, my skin, touching please."

Lisa ran a hand through her hair, "You sure?"

In answer Sara started pulling her clothes off. Soon both women were nude. The new lovers cuddled together with Sara leaning into Lisa. She felt her senses overwhelmed by everything. She gave into the need of Lisa's love and protection, safe at last from the cruel world. Sleep claimed them both in minutes.

The cabin was dark except for the light of the fire in the fireplace. The lovers lay locked in each others arms within their bubble of warmth. The light thump of someone walking on the porch then the key sliding into the lock caused Lisa to begin to stir. The click of the lock brought her almost totally awake. Lisa eyes flew open at the door's movement and the thump of the man stepping in. It took only a second for her to realize it was her twin brother. A second man was but a step or two behind him.

"Dan! What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here until tomorrow night."

Sara had started to wake and move. Lisa pulled her close as she pulled the blanket up tight around them.

"What's a matter with the bed in the rooms?" He added as he stared down at the clothes scattered on the couch.

"It's going to take a full twenty-four hours for the cabin and water tank to fully heat up. What does it matter, no one was supposed to be here!"

"Well, sweet sister," Dan dropped the bags and held up his arm. "Surprise!"

Another man followed Dan and put down what he had been carrying then followed Dan back out. The two men worked quickly to get everything in. Once it was done the car was put into the garage. Lisa and Sara ran for the bedroom after the guys left the cabin to move the car. They took a quick shower, relieved that the repairmen were right about the water. Then they pulled on sweats and returned to the living room where the two men were busy rearranging everything in order to add a second air mattress to take advantage of the fireplace's heat.

"What's the matter with the bedroom?" Lisa sniped at her twin.

"I forgot how long it takes for this place to heat back up or we would've gotten a room for the night. You two don't mind sharing the fireplace do you?" Dan smiled and batted his eyes at the two women.

They giggled before Lisa added, "I haven't even met your a…friend yet."

"Ah, sis, this is Rick. Rick this is my twin and …" Dan's hand was pointed first at Lisa, and then moved to Sara.

Lisa smiled and pulled Sara close, in a silent statement of 'My new girlfriend', "Sara."

Then Dan added, "…Sara."

Now that everyone was introduced and the night's sleeping area arranged. The group turned to fixing and eating dinner. The rest of the evening was spent in getting to know each other. Of course, like all brothers and sisters, Dan and Lisa kept trying to top each other in revealing some past embarrassing exploit. The best one was how their parents found out that the twins were gay.

Sara smiled then looked to Rick, "Was it like this for you?" Rick head shook in answer, "because my family was way different."

Rick add a quiet "me too, later we'll compare."

Lisa started, "I think we were fourteen. This was one of those bring- a-friend trips and each of us kids had. Everyone except the four of us was outside. We had stayed in the basement to play a game."

"Little did our parents know what game!" Dan added as leered at Rick, the tip of his tongue slid across his lower lip.

Lisa eyes rolled before she continued, "So they walked into the basement to tell us dinner is ready, only to find Sherry and me making out. The words that came out of Mom shocked us. I never even imagined that our mother knew all those words." Lisa smiled as Dan shook his head then she continued, "I think they expected the making- out part but finding the girls lip-locked on the couch wasn't what they had pictured."

Dan turned red as he added, "Us guys ran up the other set of stairs and outside before my parents could find us. All thanks to the girls and their quick thinking. They told our parents that we had gone for a walk. I don't even want to think what would've happen had they found us."

Lisa continued with almost a giggle, "We were only kissing, having a cock in your mouth was a little more than I thought they could handle. So those two get away and walk around back, acting all innocent while us girls, are put in the corners." Lisa paused and looked at her brother. "That night we had to stay in view of the adults. But the boys, they got to slip out. Then our parents left out the back to take a romantic ride on the lake. A very short time later the boys were marched into the office. My parents looked like they were ready to skin them alive." Lisa was laughing at this point.

Dan took over, "They found us in the boat, nude. We, at least, got to finish this time before they found us. I'm just glad that our grandparents were there. They saved my hide, I'm sure. It's one of the few times I can remember Dad losing it."

"After that we had new rules at home and at the cabin, no friends in a room with closed doors." Lisa added.

When everyone had stopped laughing a calm settled over the group as the soft background music took over. Sara and Lisa cuddled against each other as they sat back watching the fire blaze. Dan sat against the couch with Rick's head resting on his shoulder. It wasn't long before the two couples settled into their sleep spots in front of the fireplace. It was late when they fell into an exhausted sleep. The two men on the one mattress and the two women on the other with Dan's back facing the two curled-up women

The group spent the early part of Friday sight seeing and shopping in Tahoe before returning to finish getting everything ready for the weekend. Lisa and Dan were surprised to see four of their friends standing on the porch as they returned in the late afternoon.

The new arrivals joined in as they all worked together in the now warm home. Lisa directed the activity as the cabin was made ready for the additional friends that would arrive within the next twenty-four hours. The two mattresses were moved out of the living room and into the basement. More air mattresses were pulled out of storage and placed either in the attic dorm or in the basement. Lisa requested the mattresses all be filled as it would take time to do it and she had heard that there's a possibility of light snow. Bedding was placed next to each mattress including fresh bedding for the two that had already been in use.

Lisa had made plans for about thirty people to be at the cabin over the weekend. With Dan and the other seeing to the sleeping arrangements, Lisa returned to the kitchen. Sara was working on the list of things to be done in the kitchen. Between the two women they managed to get the rest of the food ready for the weekend as well as making the dinner for the group.

The cabin filled laughter as the friends, new and old settled down to relax in the living room that had been put back in order. The fire in the fireplace added the extra warmth that was needed as snow, as predicted, started to fall from the evening skies. As the evening went on more of their friends began to arrive. They had changed plans after seeing the prediction of snow. By midnight Dan had let the last of the guests in as Lisa and Sara had retreated to their bedroom an hour before. The last arrivals were anxious to just hit the sack after their drive in the snow, so Dan pointed them to the attic dorm and they made their way to their assigned sleeping areas.

Dan stepped out on the porch for a few minutes to watch the light snow fall. His thoughts going back a few years ago to what he though had been a good time, but now just hurt. Rick joined him on the porch.

"Dan," Rick waited for the inviting look before stepping close to him. "You okay?"

"Yea, just a bad memory, I'd hoped it would go away before you saw me." He gave Rick a half smile.

"You want to talk about it?"

"No," and he move towards another spot on the porch, pulling Rick with him. "I would rather make a new memory." He pulled Rick into his arms and kissed him.

Then the two held each other in a loving embrace, occasionally sharing kisses as they watched the snow continue to fall. Eventually the cold forced them back indoors. They walked quietly to the bedroom they were sharing. The door closed and they turned their attention to getting each other naked and making new, loving memories after which they fell into a restful sleep.

The weekend was full of fun and activity as the group enjoyed the company of each other. Dinner was a celebration of a first wedding anniversary for Sherrie and Vikki. They had been given the other master bedroom for the weekend. Last year the two women had finally made the trip to Canada and were married after having been together for nearly five years.

While Sara had enjoyed the weekend by late Monday she was glad that the cabin was now just the two of them. It was also a relief that most of the mess had been picked up by the group before they left.

Lisa and Sara once more move an air mattress in front of the fireplace where they spent most of Tuesday making love and talking. Both of the women opened up to each other telling things that they had long hidden from the world. They had found in one another the soul mate each had searched so long for.

The trip back was easy going. At Lisa's home they unpacked the car, took a short nap and made love. Later Lisa took Sara home so that she could get her things ready for work as they each needed to be back on Thursday.

Sara needed time to work out how she would handle Gil Grissom and the rest of the CSIs. The world looked a lot more promising now that she had Lisa as a lover. Only time would tell where life would lead them and together Sara felt it would be a good place.

The End
