"Warrick, don't you think you're overreacting just a little?" Gil asked as he followed his angry lover into their bedroom.

He had to step back to avoid being knocked over as Warrick whirled around on him. "Overreacting?! No, I think I'm reacting the way I should, Gil! How the hell could you take her side over mine?"

"Ricky, you know I wasn't choosing sides. The evidence was there plain as day, Sara just happened to beat you to finding it."

"Great, not only am I overreacting; now I'm incompetent! Thanks for the vote of confidence Grissom!"

Gil cringed at the use of his last name, knowing that Warrick only used that outside of the lab if he was truly pissed.

Or hurt.

And lately it seemed that Warrick had become a lot more sensitive. This was the fourth unreasonable argument they'd had in as many weeks and Gil couldn't for the life of him figure out what the hell was going on.

"Warrick, you are the best CSI I know. You are dedicated to your work, the victims; to justice. Missing a piece of evidence is unfortunate, but it all worked out in the end. Sara was there for you and she noticed what you didn't. That's the whole concept of teamwork. That's the reason I sent my two best CSIs to the scene. It was too large for either of you to process alone, and together I knew that if Sara missed something you'd find it and vice versa."

"Thanks Grissom. I feel sooo much better. Tell ya what, since you think Sara is so awesome, and so worthy of you second guessing my skills, why don't you go sleep with her tonight!"

That was Gil's final straw.

"What the hell is going on with you?! You know I love you, know I wouldn't dream of leaving you, especially not for Sara. I mean seriously Rick what has gotten into you?" Gil shouted, anger flaring at Warrick's baseless accusation.

"You wanna know what's gotten into me Gil? You. You got into me. And now I have to spend the next 8 months bloated beyond reason, nauseated at the mere smell of cooking meat, and lord knows when Ecklie finds out I'll be confined to a desk. And on top of that, I have the one person who should be in my corner, offering unwavering support, second guessing my every move. Scratch that, sending Sara to second guess my every move. Thanks a lot!"

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? Why would you be on desk duty for eight months. And what the hell is this sudden sickness at the smell of meat? Just tell me what's going on already!"

"Fine Gil. I'm pregnant. PREGNANT, okay? There's your big piece of evidence. You finally solved the case. You, Gil Grissom, World Renowned Entomologist, managed to knock up your 'favorite' CSI Level 3 screwup, Warrick Brown! I can hear it now. 'Poor Dr. Grissom, tied down to that world-class fuckup because of one night of senseless passion. A condom could've prevented so much heart ache. What a waste of a glorious career.' Well, don't worry Grissom, I don't expect anything from you. I will be fine, we will be fine!" Warrick shouted as he wrapped his arms protectively around his stomach, as if attempting to protect the life growing inside him from the harshness he expected to hear from Gil.

But there was no harshness in Gil's tone. Instead there was genuine disbelief, a tad bit of awe, and a multitude of love. "We are gonna have a baby?"

And Warrick collapsed into Gil's arms; anger and fear draining from him by way of the tears making fresh tracks down his cheeks, body shaking as the emotional floodgates were opened by Gil's loving utterance of one word.

We.
