Series: 1) Domestic
Summary: Everybody loves a bargain.

Nick hadn't said anything about the case of hot peppers. He'd kept his mouth shut about the two pounds of cheese and the case of ice cream sandwiches, and he would have gone for the frozen burritos himself if Greg hadn't beaten him to it. But this…well, he had to draw the line somewhere.

"G, seriously, what are we gonna do with that much chocolate syrup?"

Greg's grin let him know he wasn't going to want to hear the answer, at least not in public. "Well you can take off your clothes and I'll show you, but it might get us kicked out of here."

"You're crazy, you know that?"

"Yeah, but that's why you love me." Greg grinned again and set the chocolate syrup in the cart, then he headed down the aisle, leaving Nick to deal with the cart.

Nick shook his head and followed Greg, picking up his speed a little when he saw Greg eyeing the Lucky Charms. "No way," Nick said, "there's still a whole box at home. We're getting my kind this time."

Greg stopped long enough to roll his eyes before he reached for a box of Golden Grahams. "You're so cute when you're throwing a tantrum. But we could just get both."

"Whatever," Nick muttered under his breath as Greg took off down the aisle again. He pushed the cart after the other man, catching up to Greg when he turned the corner. "G, would you slow…"

He trailed off when he realized Greg wasn't alone, and when he recognized the other couple Greg was talking to his heart skipped a beat.

"Look who I found," Greg said, glancing over his shoulder long enough to flash an amused grin in Nick's direction.

Nick blinked at Greg a few times before he turned to look at Catherine and Warrick again. He wasn't sure what Greg thought was so funny, but it was obvious the other man was enjoying himself even more now than he had been a few minutes ago. He glanced into the other couple's cart long enough to register pasta sauce, frozen chicken, and two bottles of red wine; definitely couple food, and Nick couldn't help wondering if they were shopping for a date or if they were actually living together.

"Hey," he said, his gaze shifting from Catherine to Warrick and back again. He knew they were doing the same thing, but they weren't offering any explanations and he wasn't about to either. "Didn't really figure you for the Costco type."

"Yeah…uh…Lindsey likes the animal crackers," Catherine answered absently, her gaze shifting back to Greg again as she spoke. "So you two are…?"

"Shopping, yeah. I'm more of a graham cracker man myself, though." Greg grinned again and grabbed the end of the cart, tugging on it until Nick got the hint and followed. "So we'll see you guys at work."

Nick pushed the cart after Greg, but as he reached the next aisle he couldn't help glancing back one more time. Warrick was doing the same thing, and when their eyes met Nick shrugged and managed a crooked, apologetic smile. Warrick shrugged back and turned away to catch up with Catherine. Nick shook his head as he watched the other man go, then he turned and started after Greg again.

"Cath and Warrick. Who would've seen that one coming?" Greg said, laughing to himself as he set a case of Spaghettios in the cart.

Nick smiled at the top of Greg's head; he had a feeling Catherine and Warrick were having the same conversation in the next aisle, but he didn't bother pointing it out. "Yeah," he answered as he followed Greg toward the Ramen, "who would've thought."
