Their first kisses were always the same; soft, almost hesitant, as if Warrick was waiting for Jim to pull away.

No kiss had ever affected him the way Jim's did. Every kiss, no matter how quick or soft, caused Warrick's stomach to flutter and his heart rate to quicken.

After kissing him, Jim would slip his arms around Warrick's waist, and Warrick would sigh in contentment. Warrick was often amazed at how safe and content he felt in Jim's arms.

Reveling in the feeling of being cherished and loved, Warrick would find himself humming softly in those quiet, simple moments.

Deep down it scared Warrick that Jim had this affect on him. He loved the way he felt when he was with Jim, but he always feared that eventually he would do something to make Jim leave.

Love, while wonderful, was oftentimes a double-edged sword.
