Title: A Weakness For Dark Eyes
By: karen/s
Fandom: CSI: Miami
Pairing: Horatio/Speed
Summary: PWP...non-canon...Horatio finds love again.

The hair is dark, but softer than his former love's. Horatio smiles and drops a gentle kiss on one closed eyelid, resulting in a small twitch of a grin. If those lids were to open, they would reveal eyes so brown as to be almost black. Another Caine weakness, he supposes. He and Ray had once laughed over their predisposition for dark eyed, dark haired beauties.

The young man under him slowly stirs, and again that small, slow grin, as if he knows that Horatio has been watching him for some time. Caine leans forward to nip at the soft skin of the man's throat-salty...moist-and apparently sensitive from the fluttering response of the pulse under his lips.

He's not trying to fool himself, but still feels oddly content even though this man is not his longtime love. That man is gone and for a moment Horatio's breath catches at the sharp pain that knowledge brings. There are similarities, but far more differences-while both are intelligent, both giving in spirit and body, they're so very different in temperament. Horatio understands that it is those differences that makes this possible... even right.

So while this Christmas was to have been spent alone saying farewell to the man that had died months earlier, plans change. And from one moment to the next, Horatio found himself agreeing to share dinner and then more with the one in his arms. He sighs again and says a silent good-bye to the first man to win his heart. At the movement, the dark eyes finally open; their look showing that he understands and no explanations are necessary.

Horatio runs his hand down a lean flank and then pulls the younger man tightly against him. He realizes that this man is his future. From the kiss he receives it is apparent the other man agrees whole heartedly. The kisses warm then enflame the pair, resulting in an act still illegal in some states. Horatio falls to his side, pulling his new lover to lie atop his chest. The young man props his head on one fist and grins down at him. It's a pose that Horatio is destined to become very familiar with for the rest of his life.

"Merry Christmas, H."

"Merry Christmas, Speed..."
