Fidgeting.

Not just normal everyday fidgeting, oh no. This was the five-year-old-needs-to-pee-and-someone's-in-the-toilet-already fidgeting. Greg just couldn't keep still and it was one of the most distracting things that Nick had ever witnessed.

When Greg was hired, the lab was told that he had ADHD but had mellowed out considerably and wasn't on any medication to jeopardize any evidence that he'd be handling. Then he turned out to be incredible and Grissom and Ecklie could care less if he had a few short distractions here and there.

However, neither Grissom nor Ecklie were currently sitting and reviewing crime scene photos in the room across from Greg's lab. If this was Greg "mellowed out," then Nick definitely didn't want to see him in full-blown distraction mode.

Sara had insisted Nick work in this room so that the second Greg had finished processing their evidence, Nick would get it. It had sounded logical at the time but- Wait. Nope, Nick just lost his train of thought. Blame Greg, he was one who insisted on just unbuttoning and re-buttoning his lab coat.

Ok, now Nick was convinced. Sara definitely had an ulterior motive.

Nick shook off the thoughts and tried not to stare at Greg. He looked down at the paper work in front of him, forcing his eyes to look at the table.

Suspect entered at eleven thirty-two.
Hands through his hair.

Scene was called in at half past noon.
Cracking his knuckles. Nick winced even though he couldn't even hear the sound through the glass walls. Damn, he had looked again. Eyes back on the paperwork.

No murder weapon had been revealed.
Scratched behind his ears

Bloody clothes and curtains sent to DNA.
Just spun around in the office chair. Greg had scooted the chair over to the printer now but instead of just sitting and waiting for his results, he had decided to untie and retie his shoes. Twice.

Nick slammed his palms down on the table, ignoring the pen and folder that fell to the floor. Not noticing that his chair had hit the floor, he quickly crossed the hallway into Greg's lab.

"Stop it!" He exclaimed, his arms stretched out, waving wildly over his head.

Greg jumped and fumbled for the papers in his hand. He quickly set them down on the table and spun around to face the intruder. "Nick?" He asked, confused, nervously running his fingers through his hair.

"I can't take it. It's constant movement! You just can't stop! Did Sara put you up to this?" Nick was starting to sound hysterical and Greg cautiously moved closer to put a hand on Nick's shoulder. Greg's eyes were fearful, not wanting to get to close but he wasn't sure what else to do.

"What are you talking about Nick?" He asked a quiet voice, still not understanding what was going on.

"You're constantly moving! And no one seems to notice it but me! Whenever I watch you, you're always….you're always…" Nick lost his train on thought again as he saw Greg's nervous left hand playing with a loose thread of his lab coat.

"You…you watch me?" Greg asked incredulously. He took an alert step back from Nick, eyeing the Texan guardedly.

"You just won't stand still!" Nick didn't realize that his voice had gotten quieter and he took a step forward towards Greg, who, for some reason, decided to stand his ground.

It was in a split second of jumbled thinking that Nick made his decision. He was going to get Greg to stop distracting him, his own way- by distracting Greg.

Nick looped one of his arms around Greg's waist and drew the tech closer to him. Before Greg could react, Nick leaned in close and whispered something that sounded vaguely like: "You're such a good distraction," and kissed him.

As simple as that, Greg practically went still. No sudden movements, no jerky motions. Just Greg in Nick's arms, kissing him back. The stillness continued when they both pulled away from the kiss, Greg, smiling like a maniac, and Nick, grinning in realization of what he had just done. They kissed again, quickly losing air this time and Greg leaned his head against Nick's shoulder.

The only sound was their deep breathing, trying to regain control. Nick mirrored Greg and leaned his head against the tech's shoulder. It was quiet, finally. No noise, just the two of them, in silence.

Then Greg's foot started tapping and Nick's grin grew even wider. "Need some more distraction?" He whispered and smiled when Greg's foot tapped even faster.
