Title: Silly Flufflet

Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: PG
Category: fluff
Summary: Nick and Greg watch Horatio Hornblower: The Wrong War.
A/N: I have no excuse for this. It's silly and unsophisticated, but it amused me. And come on, you know Greg's a total fanboy. I don't think you have to be familiar with HH to get this, but if you're not I highly recommend it, if only for the fact that Ioan Gruffudd, the actor who plays Horatio, is a pretty, pretty thing (he also played Lancelot in King Arthur).

"You know," Nick said softly, "I have to say I'm impressed."

Greg leaned against him and sighed, his eyes glued to the screen.

"I mean it. I thought for sure you were gonna make me watch some teen comedy again, or cartoons—"

"Anime," Greg corrected.

"Right. Anime. But I have to say, our last few movie nights have been really good."

Greg shushed him and slid his hand into Nick's as he watched the movie.

"I mean, look at that," Nick said after a moment. "That's a man you can look up to, a man with principles and values."

"A man with total DSL," Greg purred. "Dick sucking lips," he said in clarification to Nick's questioning glance.

Nick rolled his eyes. "He just stood up to a commanding officer for the sake of a lady's honor and you're more impressed with his lips?"

"They're like pillows," Greg said with a wistful sigh. "Besides, the Marquis isn't his commanding officer and Mariette isn't a lady."

"Woman, whatever," Nick said. "I didn't figure she had a title."

"No, I mean she's a whore."

Nick frowned. "I thought she was a schoolteacher."

"She is. I just hate her."

"Why?"

Greg pointed to the screen where Mariette and Horatio were sharing a kiss.

"Does she turn him over to the enemy or something?"

"No, look right there," Greg said.

"The kiss?"

"Bitch," Greg said with a sneer.

"Hey, since when did you talk about women that way?" Nick asked, pulling away from him.

"Who said I was talking about her?"

"Greg," Nick said with an exasperated sigh, not at all looking forward to another round of Greg's insane theories regarding the romantic entanglements upon the HMS Indefatigable.

"I just think that if he's cheating on his boyfriend he should at least look guilty."

"Greg, they're not dating."

"You just don't know what to look for. Look at that—he's not even trying to get into bed with her."

"He's a man of honor."

"He likes dick."

"Why can't you watch a single show without tarnishing the good name of every single character?"

"Why do you think saying someone's gay equals tarnishing their good name?" Greg asked, his voice tight.

Nick didn't have a response to that. He frowned as he turned back towards the television set. They watched the rest of the movie in silence.

"He is kinda pretty when he cries," Nick said as a peace offering once the movie was over.

"Mmm." Greg's arms were crossed over his chest and he did not look happy.

"Archie probably wouldn't have raced a lit fuse like that to save him if he wasn't in love with Horatio."

Greg pretended to gasp. "How dare you besmirch their honor?"

"Greg," Nick whispered, reaching out for him. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."

Greg let Nick take his hand. "I know. It's just…you say things like that and you don't even realize that you're talking about us. I'm worried about what you really think of us—of yourself."

Nick tilted his head and pressed his forehead against Greg's temple. "I'm sorry. I know I've got a lot of unconscious stuff going on that's not healthy. But if I didn't have you to point it out I'd never be able to fix it."

Greg turned his head and kissed Nick gently. He closed his eyes and just breathed in Nick's scent for a few minutes. "OK," he said finally. "You're forgiven. You wanna watch the next one? Not only is there a mutiny, we get to meet Second Lieutenant Bush for the first time."

Nick smiled as he traced his fingers over Greg's cheek. "You like Second Lieutenant Bush?"

Greg smirked. "Not as much as Horatio does."

Nick laughed and rolled his eyes as he reached for the DVD case. "Whatever you say. I promise I'll look for the evidence this time."

"Don't worry," Greg said as he settled himself against Nick's shoulder, "I'll be sure to point out anything you miss."
