"You attempted to physically subdue a man with a blowtorch? What the HELL were you thinking?" Mac yelled at a now humbled Danny.

"I wasn't hurt Mac, b'sides I didn't trust Vicaro, he seemed shifty to me." Danny replied, his word took on a slight hiss at the end as Mac placed an ice pack on his bruised side.

"Y'a know, Stella told me 'bout Hannigan and how Hawkes almost had to be called down to docks again, spatula and all." Danny's voice was calm, almost playful, but his eyes flashed with pain and fear.

"Your right Danny, I should have told you. I don't know why I didn't, I'd meant to until..."

"Until you heard Aiden say somethin' to me a'bout the 'Garage Joe' incident." Danny finished Mac's sentence for him.

"Something like that. Is the ice to much?"

"Nah Mac, It's fine. You 'kay, I mean you nearly died, you need anything?"

"I'll survive. I've got you to take care of me now, right?" Although Mac had said the words in a joking manner Danny saw right through them. Mac was scared, for who was the one question Danny now had to answer.

The problem would be getting Mac to talk. It had been worse that pulling teeth to ever get Mac to admit that he had a problem. That is one of the things that Danny and Mac have in common. Neither of them freely admit that something is wrong.

It had taken the collective efforts of both Don Flack and Stella Bonasera to bring both men together. More often then once it had also taken a certain Greek detective to keep them from falling apart; not for a lack of feeling but rather a lack of expressing, to the other at least, those aforementioned feelings.

Mac had repeatedly told Stella how mush he cared about Danny and how worried about the younger man he was. Mac had even told her once that he loved Danny, even though he tended to make rash decisions that ended up getting him into trouble; Mac had said that Danny's impulsiveness made him 'loveably charming'. That had been after the Riggs/Sandhog case. Since then Mac still had yet to tell Danny that.

Danny could be just as difficult. After their last fight Danny had run to Stella's apartment and collapsed, crying, into the startled detective's arms. Three hours later, Stella had finally realized what the fight had been about: Sonny Sassone. Ever since the Tanglewood incident Danny and Mac had fought about Danny's rather shady past. After Danny's midnight visit, and his confession of his love for Mac, Stella had had it.

The next morning She locked the three of them in her bedroom and they all had a long talk about Sonny Sassone, Danny's family, Claire, work, Aiden, and just life in general. That had helped ease some of the fears, but neither man ever admitted that they were in love.

The two sat in silence for awhile. It wasn't until Mac stood up and removed the ice pac that Danny spoke.

"Mac?" Danny sighed heavily. He knew that something was bothering Mac, he just didn't know how to ask what it was without upsetting him.

"Yes Danny." Mac turned so that he was facing Danny.

"I love you."

Mac sat back down next to Danny and picked up one of his hands.

"I love you too Danny, and I don't want to lose you. I know that what we do puts us at risk and I accept that, but please Danny, don't go looking for trouble, you usually find more than enough on your own."

"'Kay Mac, I'll make a deal with you. I won't go lookin' for trouble if you start payin' more attention to your surroundings. Like you just said, we do a dangerous job Mac, and I'm not willing to lose you either."

"Deal, now how about dinner. Italian good?"
