He felt as though he had emerged from the shadows into sunlight.

Greg smiled as he and Nick ambled along one of the paths in the park, arm in arm, Sam gamboling ahead of them. It was a beautiful spring day, perfect for a walk.

He was right where he belonged, Greg told himself. He had moved away from the life he'd thought that he was going to live, and now, he was living the life he'd always been intended to have, the life that he was happy with. He had no regrets. None at all.

Of course, Jonah would always be a beautiful memory for him. He had loved Jonah, and that love would always be there in his heart. It would never go away.

But even Jonah had known that he belonged with Nick.

He had tried to deny it for a while. He had tried to hold on to his anger at how Nick had put his ambition ahead of their relationship.

He had to admit that he couldn't keep holding on to that anger, not when Nick was so obviously ashamed of how he had acted. Jonah had told him when they were together that he was sure Nick regretted his actions. Jonah had been such a warm, forgiving person.

He had been lucky to have Jonah in his life, even for the short time that they had been a couple. That love was a special part of him. It had taught him a lot.

Loving Jonah had made him realize how lucky he was to have had two loves in his life. One had been taken from him, but the other was stronger than ever.

Greg felt as though he had stepped from darkness into light, in more than one way. The clouds that had lain over his relationship with Nick in the past had all melted away, and all that he could foresee for the two of them was a bright, sunny future full of love.

He had Jonah to thank for that, too. Without letting that second love into his life, he might have kept holding onto that anger and never let it go.

But that part of his life was over. It was in the past.

He had moved from the darkness of his past relationship with Nick into the light with Jonah, and now, his life had come full circle.

He was back with Nick, and this time, he was basking in the light. He knew that the darkness would never come back to haunt them again; thanks to his time with Jonah, the two of them had learned what they most valued in their relationship.

Life wasn't perfect, and it never would be. But it was good -- and he was going to make his life with Nick the best that it could possibly be.

Light and joy were here to stay, and they would never be dimmed again.
