Nick smiled at the pleasantness of the scene. When he had imagined a relationship with Gil he had always pictured heat and intensity, and while he found Gil to be passionate, boy was he passionate, he also found Gil to have a quiet softness outside of the office that he hadn't expected. He found these quiet afternoons spent curled up on the couch with Gil just as, if not the most, treasured in his memory. Nick glanced up from his article on the reliability of aged DNA when Gil tossed his crossword puzzle on the coffee table in frustration. "What's wrong?" Gil looked at him exacerbated but not truly up set.

"It's this clue, I can't seem to get it and it's the last clue, in the last crossword in the whole book."

"What's the clue?"

Gil looked slightly amused and his voice held just a shade of condensation, "flock of fruit."

"Oh a kurfurckle." The shock on Grissom's face was both gratifying and irritating. Does Gil honestly think I know nothing of use that he hasn't taught me? Grissom snatched the puzzle from off the table. He filled in the word.

"It fit." He said it like he didn't understand.

Nick sighed, knowing that if he explained it Gil would attribute it to the Discovery Channel. "The National bird of New Zealand is the kiwi; because of this the New Zealand government decided that a flock of kiwis should have a special name, a kurfurckle. Since kiwis are also a fruit, a flock of fruit is a kurfurckle." Nick sighed again expecting the worst only to get well-- pounced. Gil was pretty much going for full body contact, which he achieved most divinely. After that Nick pretty much stopped thinking and several minutes of lovely frottage later had them both panting and basking in the afterglow. Wow, that's the most --ardent that Gil's ever been.

"What brought that on?" Nick asked, too curious to depend on Grissom to volunteer the information. Gil's flushed face eddened a bit more. 'It's just well, you explaining that, it was, well very invigorating. I can see now why you play dumb with me sometimes."

Nick nodded thoughtfully, "It's true your very hot when you explain things, sexy even," Nick added this just to see Gil so prettily again. "But I had no idea that you felt that way about me." Nick smiled down at Gil, his lips curling on the ends turning the smile quite evil looking, causing Gil to feel a bit apprehensive about revealing his slight fetish. "Did you know a flock of vampires is called a kiss?"
