Speed walked down the lab's hall on his way to Horatio's office. He had to drop off his doctor's paperwork, he was clear to come back to the lab next Monday. In his opinion not a day to soon, he couldn't take the talk shows anymore. The shoulder wound was healing, but it still would be a few more months before field work.

He had been pissed at first that everyone had just assumed that he once again hadn't cleaned his gun. Please, he had learned that lesson the first time. The apologetic look and batch of cookies from Calleigh when she discovered the faulty bullets were priceless – though not worth the hole in his shoulder.

A pile of shredded paper caught his eye. He stopped and stared at it, his curious mind going into over drive. He remembered with fond and painful memories putting together the shredded documents on the Professor case a couple years back. He slipped into the layout room just to look. Maybe play with the puzzle just a bit, make sure he still had it after two months of re-coup time at home, his mind going to mush over Springer.

He had at least two pages figured out, now if he could just figure out the missing piece of the third.

"Excuse me." Speed startled and turned around. "What are you doing?"

Speed stared at the younger man. He was about the height of Eric, the brown hair was cut to look stylish but he still had an element of geekness all CSI's had, including Eric but he wouldn't admit it. He would have to smack Eric later; he never told him how cute the new guy was.

"What?" Speed asked.

"What are you doing? Who are you? You shouldn't even be in the lab." Ryan demanded glaring at him.

"I was just stopping by and saw that you needed help," Speed shrugged.

"Non-staff shouldn't even be in this area. How did you get in here?" Ryan moved towards the layout table eyeing Speed.

"Just walked in," he grinned realizing Ryan had no idea who he was.

Ryan's jaw dropped. "Just walked in and decided to process…" He paused looking at the table. "Wow you got two pages done."

"Well you did already have it organized by size." Speed hid his grin, Eric had told him about the new kid's tendency of OCD.

“But you shouldn’t be in here.” Ryan demanded once again.

“You’re cute when you're frustrated,” Speed smiled.

Ryan’s jaw dropped. “Excuse me?”

Speed walked towards him, grinning as Ryan back up. “Cute when you're frustrated. You’re blushing.”

“I…am…not….” Ryan backed into the wall. “I’ll call security.”

Speed placed his good arm to the side of Ryan’s head. “Now why would you go and do that for?"

"You're harassing me," Ryan pointed out.

Speed ran a finger down Ryan's cheek then across his lips. "Am I?" He leaned his body against Ryan's, feeling the awakening erection. "Seems to me you're enjoying the attention."

Ryan's eyes closed at Speed's touch and then snapped open when Speed brushed his lips against the new kids. Speed took advantage of the gasp and deepened the kiss, pushing Ryan against the wall trying to get closer. Speed pulled back panting slightly, his eyes almost black in lust. He gave one last kiss and nip at the delectable lips then turned and head out of the layout room.

Ryan slumped against the wall to the floor trying to get his breathing under control. "Who the hell was that?"

~ * ~

Ryan had locked himself in the layout room trying to come to grips with the surreal meeting. He was impressed that some stranger could actually put two pages together. He was still working on one. It didn't help that he was distracted and the OCD was in overtime wanting him to better organize the scraps of paper.

He heard laughter and looked up to see Eric walking down the hall with someone he couldn't quite see. Eric opened the layout room door giving Ryan good a view of his guest. It was him.

"Ryan," Eric smiled. "Hey you got two pages done."

Ryan blushed looking down at the strangers smirk. "Well …"

"Good job," Eric turned towards the stranger. "Ryan this is Timothy Speedle."

Ryan blushed even more; he couldn't believe he yelled at the man who was probably going to train him. "Mr. Speedle…"

"Speed." Speed smirked. "Actually Eric, we've met. I was helping him earlier with the pile of paper."

Eric nodded. "That’s good; come Monday Horatio wants you working with Ryan." Eric looked down at his pager. "That’s Valera, I got to go. Speed, dinner?"

"Sure," Speed waved as Eric left the layout room.

"So…ah…Speed…" Ryan kicked himself for stuttering slightly.

Speed let the door close and stalked Ryan back against the same wall. "You're blushing again."

Ryan looked up into piercing brown eyes. "Training?"

Speed's hand snaked behind Ryan's head, cradling it he pulled the young man towards him taking his mouth into a deep hard kiss. As fast as it started it ended leaving Ryan wanting more. The older CSI stepped back with a small grin on his face, "Lot's of training." Speed chuckled as he walked away from the new kid.

Ryan found himself once again slumping against the wall and sliding to the floor. He was looking forward to it.
