It was a cold, dreary night in the middle of January. The roads and sidewalks were slushy from the snow and rain that had fallen just a couple of hours ago; the wind nipped at any skin it could find, only the heaviest jackets could sustain such a fight.

The sky was a very dark, very deep midnight blue, with a few of the universe's candles illuminating it. Ursa Major could be spotted perfectly, even though dark clouds hid a small part of the heavens. A big orb of white shined brightly to the side of the celestial sphere, casting light onto the streets of the town below.

On an abandoned road, not too far from the city, but far enough to get away from the noise and sounds, there was a car parked to the side, reflecting the opposite of how the moon was placed. The engine was off, the keys in the owner's pocket; the doors were open though no one was in.

On the hood sat two young gentlemen, one with ebony hair and the other with dark blonde. They sat and watched the clouds go by, the stars twinkle, and the moon shine. The shorter one leaned into the taller one and turned his gaze upon him; the other responded with a smile.

"I took you out here for a reason..."

"To get frostbite?"

"No, doofus, I had a question to ask you."

"Are ya gunna ask me to let ya take me to the stars?" He gestured up to the sky, "To fall in love with ya and let you take me out of this world, off of Earth, so we can explore other worlds? We can visit Venus.. and Mars. Yer gunna ask me that and tell me all we need is love?"

"No," He smiled, "I all ready know you'd let me take you there. I've got somethin' more important to say, somethin' that could change our lives..."

"Wanna tell me what it is?"

He smiled and slid off the ground to kneel on one knee in front of the other man.

"This isn't what I thi..."

"Yeah, it is. Danny, will you marry me? I know it ain't exactly legal or anythin' yet, but..."

"Yes," Danny slid off the hood to stand in front of the kneeling man, "Yes, Donnie, I'll marry you."

Don stood and slid the gold band onto Danny's finger, "I love you, Danny."

"I love you, too," Danny whispered, weaving his arms around Don's shoulders and kissing him with a passion many didn't know was possible to possess.

Up above, the angels looked down with smiles, the stars shined brighter than the sun, and the moon wished it was a mirror to reflect the love it was seeing down below.

The two lovers were oblivious to it all as they stayed in the embrace for a moment before going in the car and leaving, the cold air finally sending them back to seek warmth in each other and their apartment.

The wind blew through out the night, feeling envious of the love it could never have but the sun shined brightly the next day, melting any resentment away.

The two men were in love and they deserved the loving, warm feeling of the sun soaking them on their first day living in forever.

For a while, only they knew they were committed in that way, but the world didn't have to know everything; they knew and that was all right; they were made for each other, whether the world would accept it or not.
