Title: Is That So Much To Ask?
By: Jaxson K.
Characters: Don, mentions Danny
Disclaimer: "I own nothing, just visiting friends....."
Summary: Don is lonely....
Notes: I based this drabble on how I felt until I finally found my someone special.

Don was sitting by the window in his bedroom one night watching the cars going by. He had the radio on, but the soft jazz did little to soothe him. It was just background noise so he wouldn't be reminded how quiet and empty the apartment was.

Don wondered why he was alone. He'd been wondering about this for a long time, and was no closer to the answer now than he was when he started. He had some good friends, and some solid co-workers, but that wasn't enough. Beneath the wiseass exterior was a mushy romantic just waiting for the right man to rescue him.

The fact that he was alone had driven Don to the edge a few times. I mean right up to the part where one leg was dangling out over space and the other was standing on crumbling ground. He knew that he could do that to his parents or his friends. He loved them too much to hurt them like that. So, he hung on.

He hated his life because it was so empty. He had sooooo much love inside to give someone, but there were no takers. He knew he wasn't the best looking, or the brightest bulb in the room, but even still. Even when he tried the dating thing it was bad. The people he met during that little experiment weren't people he wanted to spend much time with in or out of bed, so he gave up.

What bothered Don was the fact that he seemed doomed to be alone forever. He hoped it wasn't true, but you never could tell. Hell, he would even settle for somebody to help talk him out of these funks. Was that so much to ask?????
