He should have known that agreeing to go to Europe was just the beginning. Now he has to listen to Greg talk about their upcoming vacation every single minute. Even at work Greg still rambles on about the cities they should visit and the sights they must see.

Nick doesn't mind listening though, and he finds himself agreeing to just about everything Greg says. Of course, there's no way they're going to miss the Eifel Tower and yes, the spanish stairs are truly amazing. He smiles at Greg's excitement at finally being able to visit the red light district. He's pretty sure that they won't be able to fit all these places into the limited time they have but he doesn't say anything. Instead, he continues to nod and smile and Greg doesn't stop talking.

It's when they come home after another double shift that Greg suddenly goes quiet. Nick doesn't notice it at first, goes to the fridge to take out two beers and as he turns around to hand one to Greg he finally notices the other man just standing there, quietly, one eyebrow raised as if he's expecting an answer.

Greg takes the beer and shakes his head, slowly, and there's a look on his face that Nick can't read, disappointment maybe.

"You don't care, do you?"

Nick blinks at hearing those words, not sure what Greg's referring to, probably something related to their holiday and he does care about that. Not the trip itself, but the fact that Greg's so obviously excited about it, that alone is enough to make him care. Italy, Holland or France, it doesn't matter, whatever Greg wants is fine by him.

"Where do you want to go, Nick?"

Nick shrugs. "I don't know," he mumbles, and when Greg shakes his head again he knows that's not what he wants to hear. But it's the closest thing to the truth he's actually willing to share, because telling Greg that he'd follow him anywhere is too corny. And being with Greg has already made him say a few terribly corny, mushy things and just for once he wants to end a discussion with dignity. Even if it's just a little.

"Come on, Nick. You must have some things you're dying to see. Places you've always wanted to visit."

Nick shrugs again. "Not really." It's not like he hasn't been to Europe before, his parents took him there a long time ago. He's seen all the sights Greg's been talking about and all that made him agree on going is the thought of seeing them again, with Greg.

"We could go some place else, you know," Greg offers.

"It doesn't matter, G." He silently curses himself for letting that slip, he should have just picked a random place in Europe, but instead he finds himself pretty damn close to sounding corny again.

"Why not?"

There's no way Nick can miss the smile that Greg's trying to hide and he realizes Greg's on to him.
"You know why," Nick says, because if Greg already knows there's no way he's going to say the words.

Greg stops trying to hold back the smile, and grins at him. "I do."

"Let's drop it then."

Greg doesn't answer him, and Nick just stands there, watching, as Greg steps closer, reaching out to slide one arm around Nick's waist.

"You can be a bit corny, Nick."

He opens his mouth to say something defensive, only to close it again when he realizes that there's no point in denying it. So what if Greg thinks he's corny, he's still here with him, isn't he? And that's all that matters. Damn, he really is corny.
