Disclaimer: I don't own CSI or its characters. If I did there'd be much more Nick, David and Greg screen time.
A/N: This is just something short that popped into my mind after watching Labrats. Let me know what you think, even if it's awful. Thanks!

David arrived home to find Nick's truck parked in his driveway. This really is my lucky day, he thought. He jumped out of the car and made his way to the porch.

"Hi." David greeted and started to kiss his boyfriend but Nick just moved away. "What's wrong?"

Nick's arms were folded against his chest. "Let's go inside."

"Read my mind." David wagged his eyebrows and unlocked the door.

Nick grunted and followed him into the house.

"Wanna hear about my lucky day?" David asked, trying to ignore the other's obvious foul mood.

"I've heard." Nick said curtly.

So that was what this was about. "So you're upset I broke the case and not you."

"Please. You're lucky Grissom didn't fire your ass."

David knew he was right but it irritated him nonetheless. "What exactly is your problem?"

"Like I said, I heard all about your lucky day."

"I know you think it was stupid but I just wanted…"

"I don't give a damn about that. You want to risk your job, that's your business."

"Then what are you so mad about?" David was thoroughly confused.

"You lied to me." Nick accused.

"Lied to you? I've never lied to you. Well, except when you had that hideous moustache and I tried to pretend I could tolerate it."

Nick sighed in frustration. "Wendy told me about how you found the dollar and then that blonde smiled at you." He looked as if that should explain everything but it only confused David more.

"What? Did you lose a dollar bill?" David reached for his wallet. "Here, I'll pay you back."

"Damn it, David! You know that's not what I'm talking about."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"The blonde."

"Huh?" David smiled. "You're jealous."

"You lied." Nick repeated. "You told me you had no interest in women."

David shook his head. "I wasn't lying."

"Then why the hell was it so lucky when this beautiful woman smiled at you?"

"Nicky." David sighed. "I never said it was a woman. As I recall I said a beautiful, sexy blond smiled at me. I can't help it if Wendy assumed it was a woman."

"Oh." Nick still wasn't ready to let it go. "How come my invitation wasn't included in your lucky day?"

"Oh, for crying out loud! You're the one that wants to keep this secret. What should I have said? Nick and I are going to Iowa and plan to spend the majority of our time fucking."

Nick ignored the crude comment. "Well, you didn't even act interested when I asked you."

"It's not like I didn't already know about it." David was starting to get a headache. "I'm tired and I'm going to bed."

He started towards the bedroom. "Are you coming?"

Nick barely hesitated before nodding and following him. As they climbed into the bed, his curiosity got the best of him. "So what did this beautiful, sexy blond look like?"

"You are jealous." David smirked.

"No, I just wondering what your type is."

David put his arm around him. "All you got to do is look in the mirror."

Nick grinned. "Even when I had a mustache?"

"Don't push it, Stokes."

Nick laughed and moved closer.

"Hey Nick?"

"Yeah?"

"I was really hoping that my lucky day would end with me getting lucky."

"How can I say no to you on your lucky day?"

"You can't." David rolled on top of Nick. "I love you."

"That makes me the lucky one." Nick said as their lips collided.
