Dear Mr. Stokes,

I am writing this letter as a follow-up to the recent complaint filed by one of our club's patrons. I understand you are a busy man, which is why I will make this a brief note. I hope that, through writing, we can come to a mutual understanding and appreciation of the issue at hand, because you seemed rather confused when my assistant manager (Jake Keppling) originally explained the situation to you.

On the afternoon of September the third, a patron (who has asked to remain anonymous) was golfing behind you and the rest of your party. According to our records, you and one Dr. Gilbert Grissom are both members of our club, and listed a Mr. Robert Dawson and a Mr. Gregory Sanders as your guests for the day. Said patron was unbothered by your play, as you kept pace with the group before you and were respectful to the grounds. (It is noted in our proceedings that one of the two guests - described as a young, spiky-haired man - cursed often and loudly, but that is neither here nor there.)

Your group finished first and returned to the clubhouse. When the patron behind you arrived, he found that club member Dr. Grissom and the previously-mentioned "spiky-haired man" were in the restaurant area together. He did not, at first, observe you. However, when he entered the locker room in order to freshen up post-round, he discovered you and the fourth member of your party to be together in the showers, sharing what our patron referred to as "one hell of a kiss." According to the patron, he made his presence known, but you and your guest proceeded with your passionate embrace for a few moments longer before realizing he was, indeed, there. He claims that you were appropriately apologetic and embarrassed at being discovered, but also added that he would have to report the incident to a manager.

It was then, according to reports, you became visibly agitated and actually yelled at the patron. When Mr. Keppling, assistant manager in charge of weekends, heard the yelling and arrived in the locker room, he was surprised to find that you and the patron were in a heated argument while you guest tried futilely to calm you down. Thankfully, no one was hurt before the altercation could be diffused (except for the unfortunate incident of Mr. Keppling slipping in that puddle). Still, I feel it necessary to write this follow-up letter and inform you further on company policy..

Mr. Stokes, while we at The Falls Golf Club have absolutely no policy against gay members, we must note that we frown upon public displays of affection of any kind, and also the verbal harassment of other patrons. I understand that the situation was heated, which is why I am not revoking your membership as Mr. Keppling threatened to do. However, in the future, I would like to ask that you and your guests show a bit more restraint, especially in the public showers. Additionally, if you do have an issue with a patron, please take it up with a manager instead of yelling. Mr. Keppling has been documented for what Dr. Grissom informed us in the comment box was "throwing you out on your ass."

If a situation like this was to occur again, I cannot promise that you'd be allowed to continue your membership at our fine establishment.

Again, Mr. Stokes, thank you for your time, and your consideration on this matter. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Pauline Walker
