Note: Summer was Lindsay's name before they changed it.

Summer thought she was hot shit. She figured she didn't even need makeup to look great, but she still read Trendy for all the latest fashion tips. She also thought Dany was hot shit. What she didn't know was that Danny read Trendy, too.

One day, however, she found out. The previous afternoon, Danny had been testing some scrapings in the trace lab, and Summer had attempted to flirt with him over the counter. She had even used her best honey-sweet voice, which her daddy said would get her any man she wanted, but Danny hadn't budged. He had just smiled politely and had gone back to work. Summer had huffed a little, privately, but then had decided that she wasn't going to give up that easily, and that there was no way Danny could resist her midwestern charm.

So later, in the hallway by the lobby, she had approached Danny again. He had been with Flack this time, coming back from a crime scene or something, and Summer had tried to crack a few jokes, and had touched Danny's arm. If she had been paying attention, she might have noticed a strange hint of something aggressive in Flack's eye. She had left the lab that night feeling satisfied that she would be getting a dinner invitation very soon.

However, the next morning, when she got into the office, there was a VHS tape on her desk with a small slip of paper set on top. Excited that Danny had made her a tape, Summer grabbed it and headed off to the a/v lab to see what was in store for the weekend. But when she popped in the tape and sat back to watch, she was surprised to see Flack's face instead of Danny's. And instead of hearing about how Danny liked long walks on the beach, she just heard mutterings of how much of a stupid bitch she was.

The tape cut out then, and when Flack reappeared on the screen, Summer got the shock of her life when she saw Danny -- writhing around under him and whimpering like a girl. Summer stared in horror as Flack glanced up at the camera and flipped her off, and then as Danny leaned up to kiss Flack passionately.

Summer was so mortified that she had to look away, and that's when she noticed the small slip of paper that she had forgotten about in her earlier zeal. She quickly unfolded it and stared, eyes wide and dreams shattered, at the single word, printed in neat, but dark handwriting.
