He knows he can't have it all, that's not who Rick is. He'll have to take what he can get and not make demands.

So he takes; inhales the moment, palms the opportunity and is grateful for the heat. Sweat runs into his eyes and burns, like a reminder over how fleeting these moments are. Their skins damp with remembrance, breaths rushed and labored, legs entwined like a promise. But there's no such things as words at the moment, no mention of the clashes of hard muscle and velvety touch. Lips not getting enough, starving for this moment in time. Eyes bleeding with what will soon end and leave him longing.

Nick will always hurt like hell later, not from physical pain but from loss. He gladly takes the pain as long as he can have just a taste of the sweetness that is Rick when he lets go. Eyes darkened, fingers digging into skin and deep, uncontrolled sounds when Nick bites down on his neck, leaving the only marks he can leave on this man.

Only thing Rick says afterward is that he needs to be going. Nick nods and stands in the doorway, watching Warrick walk away.

Outside the cold November rain is washing the heat of his skin away.
