Title: Numbers
Author: slightly_frayed, a.k.a. Fraying, a.k.a. Laurie.
Rating: Umm...G? Dear God. XD Actually, there's a sex reference. That makes it PG. That's mildly better.
Genre: Fluff. With a promise of smut to come. *Nod*
Summary: Kind of randomly inspired by a line on Grey's Anatomy last night. '...Used to wake her husband up in the middle of the night to make love...' Fabulous show, by the way. Watch it. Experience the love that is George O'Malley. Yes. Anyway, read this. =P

Three weeks. Twenty-one days since three Saturdays ago when Nick showed up on his doorstep and kick-started the rest of his life. Three weeks.

Twenty-one days, and Greg wishes he could let the number go. Wishes the number was so big that he couldn't possibly count the Saturdays since they've been together. Hopes that three years from now, he can remember the last three weeks in as much vivid detail as he can now.

Knowing glances at the lab. Laughing on Nick's couch until nausea set in. Four hour phone conversations at 2a.m. Being late for work because hello, how can you wake up next to a naked Nick Stokes and just leave?

He's smiling now, in the darkness of Nick's bedroom. Wondering how many things they could have done in the last four hours that they've stupidly wasted sleeping.

"Nicky…" But he only stirs.

"Nicky!" He's definitely awake now, sitting upward and looking expectantly at Greg; not yet used to having someone sleeping next to him and yelling his name in the middle of the night.

"What's wrong, Greg? Is everything alright?" It's adorable that he's actually worried.

"I miss you." And as if Nick looks confused. He hasn't talked to him in four hours. Missing him is only logical after that long.

"You miss me? I'm right here." Adorable again.

"Yeah, but I was lonely." Confused and adorable.

"Greggo, I'm right here. How can you be lonely?"

Greg's skin heats up where Nick places his hand for emphasis, and his eyes follow the path of the older man's fingers.

"I love you." It slips. Greg looks up slowly, half worried.

Three weeks, and he hasn't said it yet. Until now. Worrying.

Nick's smiling though, no longer angry at having been so abruptly awakened, and Greg thinks that silence is much louder than it lets on.

"I love you too, Greggo." And the smile is in the kiss.
