Summary: Nick and Greg aren't that obvious.

***

Nobody would have known about Nick and Greg..

Except the delayed squeezing of Greg's shoulders or the patting of his chest were a little obvious.

They way Nick could go into a lab during a hard case, looking tired and radiating sadness but then come out with a bounce in his step and a smile that was almost as bright as Greg's, was a bit of a give away too.

They wouldn't have been obvious if Nick didn't grow his hair out and have it messed up precariously in the style of one Greg Sanders for several weeks before finding the bangs in his eyes was a bit too much.

They weren't obvious when Greg flirted more with Nick then the rest of the team combined.

Or when Greg would look like a Cheshire cat when he bounced out of the locker room, followed three minutes later by a slightly flushed but content looking Nick.

They most certainly weren't obvious when each would manage to slip the other's name into the conversation at least once every five minutes.

Maybe they were being a teeny little bit obvious, however, when Catherine caught them mid make-out in the break room.

Catherine had just spent ten minutes talking to Hodges about women and how not to go about trying to impress them.

Five of those had been spent telling him that not everyone was interested in science the way he was. She suggested various kinds of things to bring up in conversation, jokes, but not ones that were too stupid, and certainly not women he'd previously dated, or crime scenes and details on the dead bodies, all few that he'd seen.

And so she needed a break. David Hodges was a sweet man, he really, really was. But there were times where she just couldn't take him. And so an exasperated Catherine Willows pushed open the break room door wanting nothing more than to grab a cup of coffee, maybe a snack and just sit down for some peace and quiet.

What she hadn't expected was to walk in and find two of her co-workers over on the couch, lips locked and apparently happy to see each other.

"Ahem" it was a quiet, innocent cough that she let out but by the way Greg and Nick fell apart you'd have thought that she'd just shot a gun or something along the likes. Greg let out a yelp as Nick hastily pushed the blonde from his lap, instantly regretting the move as Greg yelped, landing on his rear. Nick reached down, cupping Greg's cheek in his hand and kissed the blonde's forehead before pulling him to his feet, whilst murmuring "Sorry, baby".

Catherine watched for a moment as Greg blushed and jerked away from Nick, jabbing a finger towards Catherine. Nick looked confused for a moment before he too wore a matching blush.

"We.. I... He..." Nick started a spluttered

"Are just soo obvious" Catherine broke out into laughter as Nick's jaw dropped and Greg looked down, toeing the carpet. "Everyone figured out from the looks, the hair, the way you couldn't keep your hands off each other, Nick cheering up whenever you went to see Greg, Greg grinning that little bit more when you came out of the locker room with Nick coming out a few minutes later" By this time Greg was scratching the back of his neck, eyes focused across the room. Nick was still staring at Catherine.

" We.. Is everyone alright with it?" Greg bit his lip as he looked at Catherine and she nearly laughed at the question till she saw that he was serious.

"We're fine with it, Greg. You two are so cute together" Greg broke out into a grin and nudged Nick when he didn't respond.

"Nick.. Nicky.. Nicky, Baby, are you ok?" Greg poked Nick's chest and waited. No response, so he poked him again. Still nothing, poked him again.

"Not working" Catherine smirked and decided to leave Greg to it.

Greg discovered that slaps didn't work, neither did pokes, prods or kicks. Greg bit his lip for a moment before looking over to Catherine. She turned and the pair smirked, seeming to share the same thoughts.

"Nicky..." Greg turned to the man with a deep, husky voice and large brown eyes. His speech was drawn out and Nick's jaw seemed to snap shut but he still looked glassy and occupied. Greg reached up a hand and ran his thumb along Nick's jaw before stepping closer and kissing him.

It did manage to snap Nick out of his shock but unfortunately for the pair he lost balance and grasped for Greg, latching onto him as he fell backwards and hit the couch again. Catherine laughed as the pair ended up tangled on the couch till Greg somehow slipped off and landed on his rear once again. Nick helped him up again and the pair began to stare at a now hysterical Catherine.
