Greg looked down at the crime scene evidence, frowning.

He wasn't entirely sure, but it seemed that every time he touched the evidence, he could feel a coldness that seemed to penetrate through his latex gloves.

That was odd. Nothing should be cold; it was late summer, and there hadn't been any air conditioning on at the crime scene when he and Ryan had been there gathering evidence. It should be room temperature, not that biting cold that he could feel down to his bones.

He didn't want to say that it was some kind of a sign, but he was starting to feel that was exactly the case. It was his sensitivity to the paranormal coming out front and center.

He couldn't mention that to anyone, though.

Greg wasn't even sure that he wanted to tell Ryan about that; as long as they'd been together, it hadn't been a subject that he'd brought up with his boyfriend.

Would Ryan laugh at him? Would his lover think that he was crazy and pull away from him, or would Ryan simply laugh and humor him, as though he was a child with some kind of new toy that he would tire of eventually? Neither prospect was very appealing to him.

No, Ryan wouldn't back away from him; Greg was sure of that. But his boyfriend might think that he'd gone a little crazy if he tried to talk to him about the subject.

Ryan lived in the real world; while he didn't see things in absolutes of black and white, Greg didn't think that Ryan would believe in the paranormal in the way that he himself did.

He wanted to give his boyfriend the benefit of the doubt, to think that Ryan would be as open-minded to something like this as he was. But he wasn't sure, and he didn't know if he wanted to find out. He didn't want to be disappointed if Ryan didn't have the reaction he expected.

What if he didn't believe in paranormal sensitivities? What if he tried to come up with some "logical explanation" for why Greg felt this biting cold from the crime scene evidence?

Well, there was only one way to find out what Ryan thought.

He'd have to talk to his boyfriend about this tonight when they were at home and had some privacy. He wasn't about to bring the subject up here in the crime lab.

He didn't know what Ryan would think of his paranormal sensitivities, but he was willing to be that his boyfriend would have an open mind about it. Ryan wasn't the kind of person who couldn't accept new things, and Greg was sure that he would be understanding, and even intrigued.

They'd see just what Ryan thought about all of this when they talked tonight. For the moment, he had to concentrate on the task at hand.

He turned back to the crime scene evidence, ready to get to work.
