Nick Stokes looked at Cassie and smiled sadly. She was such a brave young girl. He had always known that she had to be alive. That she wouldn't give up so easily. And when they finally had found her, he had felt a relief so deep that for a moment he was almost dizzy.

They had tried to kill her. A child. How could someone want to kill someone as small and helpless as Cassie?

She had been reborn that day, though up until know she might not be aware of that fact. Carefully he reached out, took her hand in his and stroked with his thumb gently over her hand.
