"Remind me why we got stuck doing this?"

"Because it's for charity and we're upstanding citizens, continuing to uphold the professional image of the lab." Nick shrugged on his suit jacket while Greg fussed with his hair in the bathroom.

"No, we're doing it ‘cause we're hot and Warrick's on vacation."

"Well, you are looking particularly hot today," said Nick, coming up behind him and placing a soft kiss on the back on his neck.

"As much as this makes me feel like a sacrificial lamb, I still need to go for more money than Travis," smirked Greg, adjusting his hair in the mirror. "He's just evil, I can sense it."

Nick rolled his eyes.

"What, you don't think Travis is attractive?"

"I just think this imaginary rivalry you have with him is ridiculous."

"So you do find him attractive."

"He's not even in your league." Nick pulled Greg's hands away from his head. "It looks fine."

"You learn how to answer those questions from your sisters?"

"I was subject to many a ‘men are bastards' rant."

Greg sighed, his hand unconsciously coming up and fiddling with his hair again. "I still don't know why we're doing this, charity and professional images aside. It's a bachelor auction. We're not really bachelors."

"Technically we are."

"That's only because people are stupid."

Nick smiled a little and leaned forward, turning Greg's head to give him a slow kiss.

Greg let out a soft sigh when their lips parted.

"Look, you only have to go on one date. It's not going to be torturous, just be a gentleman and make her feel special."

"I'd much rather be home and make you feel special." Greg wagged his eyebrows, suggesting that Nick's definition of special was not the same as his own.

"The good thing about the auction is that we both get a night off for the date. So make sure your date ends early and you can come home and we can make each other feel all kinds of special."

"I like the way you think." Greg had turned back to the mirror, hands traveling up to his head again.

Nick smiled. "Now come on, your hair's fine. We've got to go so you can kick Travis's ass."
