Every since he was a child, Warrick had been taught to appreciate the beauty that was visible in everyday life. From the men on the street corner huddled together for warmth, singing from their souls. Where others saw bums, he saw passion and solidarity. Even down to the ladies in his small church, with the large ostentatious hats. While others laughed, he was amazed at the show of independence and personality. So at an early age, Warrick grew accustomed to looking for the beauty where it wasn’t often seen, at least not without truly looking.

When he fell in love with Gil it didn’t catch him by surprise. He had long been intrigued by the closed off man. Gil kept to himself and didn’t let anyone close. One time Gil had slipped and let him get close, and Warrick was taken away. The beauty that the small glimpse into Gil’s private self showed Warrick was enough to have intrigued. For the longest time, Warrick was certain he had never met anyone more beautiful.

As Warrick looked through the nursery window at his beautiful baby girl, he amended that sentiment.

Looking over at his lover, beaming down at their daughter also, Warrick didn’t think Gil would mind. In fact, he was certain he would agree.
