After nearly 32 hours of working a case, Warrick was finally driving away from the crime lab. All he wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep for a week. The thought of going to his empty apartment wasn't all that appealing though. At the next interesection, he made a u-turn and headed for the other side of town. Twenty minutes later he was pulling up to the small white house. He jumped out of his Jeep and walked up the sidewalk. He considered knocking on the door but pulled out the key he was given a couple weeks ago instead. He fumbled with the lock for a few seconds before getting the door open.

Right there on the living room sofa was Gil Grissom, hunched over a crossword puzzle. Warrick closed the door behind him and crossed the room to sit next to Gil. He sat as close to the man as possible without sitting on top of him. He gave Gil a peck on his cheek before dropping his head to Gil's shoulder and closing his eyes for a brief moment and exhaling. Finally, a little peace.

"Not that I'm complaining," He pulled away enough to look at Gil without hurting his neck, "but what are you doing here, Warrick?"

"I'm tired and I love you." It was only there for a second, but Warrick saw the disbelief flicker across Gil's face. It wasn't the first time he said it, and it wasn't the first time Warrick saw that disbelief. "What would it take for you to believe me? Just tell me and I'll do it."

"Warrick, I believe--"

"No you don't." Warrick interrupted.

Gil broke eye contact, looking down at his own hands instead. They were still holding the crossword puzzle and pen. "I just don't understand how someone like you--"

"If you you could just see it like I do, believe in us like I do."

"Warrick, you're just curious or infatuated. This," Gil waved his hand between himself and Warrick," isn't going to--"

Warrick didn't want to hear it. "Gil, you trust me, don't you?"

"With my life."

"You know I wouldn't lie to you?"

"Not about anything important."

"You think I'm a pretty smart guy?"

"Of course. What does this have to do with anything?"

"Gil." Warrick placed both his hands on Gil's shoulders. "Know that I love you, because I told you so. Okay?" There were a few seconds of silence before Gil nodded his head slightly and responded.

"Okay, I love you too."
