"Good thing our shift ended when it did," Carlos said softly as he and Greg walked out to the parking lot beside each other. "If I'd had to wait even five minutes longer, I think I'd have lost control, grabbed you and kissed you right there in the crime lab."

"Yeah? Don't you think that would have raised more than a few eyebrows?" Greg said, laughing as he opened the door and followed Carlos outside. "It could've gotten us both fired, too, so it's a good thing you didn't Or at least gotten us both a good reprimand."

"Probably would have gotten us thrown out of there," Carlos laughed, shaking his head. "Or at least we'd have gotten told to get a room." He placed his hand protectively at the small of Greg's back for a moment as the two of them approached their cars.

"So, I guess we're going out to breakfast?" he asked, tilting his head to the side with a smile. "I don't know about you, but I'm really not all that hungry." His dark gaze swept over Greg, from head to toe, before coming to rest on his face. "At least, not for food."

Greg could feel his pulse quicken at those words; he hadn't thought that he'd ever hear something like that coming from Carlos. This was all so sudden -- but definitely not unwanted. He felt as though every dream he'd ever had was coming true, all at the same time.

"We c-can always just go back to my place," he offered, his tongue suddenly feeling thick and heavy, stumbling over the words. "I could make you breakfast. Or .... we don't have to eat, if you don't want to." He knew what he wanted to say, but he was having a hard time getting the words out.

"Great," Carlos said with another smile, reaching out to stroke gentle fingertips down Greg's cheek. "I'll follow you there, okay?" He leaned forward to whisper in Greg's ear, his voice soft and seductive. "I hope you don't live too far from here, because I can't wait to get my hands all over you."

"It's not far, only about ten minutes," Greg managed to say, feeling his knees go weak. It was a good thing that he was leaning against his car; if he hadn't been, he might have collapsed to the ground. Carlos' touch undid him, made him feel as though he was melting.

Carlos moved back a few steps towards his own car, pulling his keys out of his pocket. "Okay, then, I'll see you when we get there," he said, that devastating smile flashing at Greg again. With an effort, Greg turned away to unlock the driver's side door and get into his car.

His hands were trembling as he inserted the key into the ignition and fastened his seat belt; he didn't know just why he was so nervous, and he didn't want to think about it. Hopefully, the shaky nervousness would go away by the time they got to his apartment.

The last thing he wanted was for Carlos to think he was afraid of this -- even though, in a way, he was a little scared. He wasn't the kind of person who had one-night stands, and he couldn't help but wonder if that was all Carlos wanted out of this encounter.

He didn't think that Carlos was that kind of person, but he had just been through a breakup. He more than likely wasn't ready to get into another relationship again so soon, and Greg didn't want to be his rebound. He wanted to be involved with Carlos, not just a one-time thing.

Had Fin broken Carlos' heart to the point where he would never want to be emotionally involved again? Or was he capable of putting those pieces back together? Greg hoped for the latter; he didn't want to think of Carlos going through the rest of his life without ever loving anyone.

He wanted to be the person who Carlos loved. He wanted them to have a relationship, to grow closer, to spend their lives together. He could happily grow old with this man; he was sure that the attraction he felt could very easily deepen into a love that would last for a lifetime.

The question was, did Carlos feel the same? Or was this just an attraction for him? Greg bit his lip as he hit the brakes and slowed down for a red light; he wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing by being so quick to jump into a physical relationship with Carlos.

But did he have the strength to turn down something he wanted so badly? He didn't think so. He might never have another chance with Carlos; if this was all he could have, then he knew he would take it and be happy for having done so. He couldn't simply walk away.

He still hadn't come up with a solution to the problem when he pulled into the parking lot of his apartment building a few moments later and got out of the car, watching Carlos pull into the parking space beside him. He had no idea what to say. He'd just have to play it by ear.

Greg watched Carlos as the other man got out of his car and walked towards him, feeling his knees go weak again. What was it about Carlos that he could incite this kind of response without even touching him? Was this merely lust, or was it something more?

Carlos stopped right in front of him, close enough for them to touch. He stood there gazing at Greg for what seemed like an eternity; Greg couldn't help wondering if Carlos might have changed his mind on the way over here, and if he was searching for a way to let him down easy.

Just as Greg was about to voice that question aloud, Carlos reached out to trail soft fingertips down his cheek, his voice very soft and husky when he spoke. "You're so beautiful," he murmured, his gaze never leaving Greg's face. "I'm so into you. I can't wait for us to get closer."

"Me either," Greg whispered, unable to keep his voice steady. He wanted to wrap himself around Carlos, out here in the parking lot, not caring who might see them. What did it matter? By tomorrow, everybody at the crime lab would probably know that they had slept together.

He wasn't going to tell, and he didn't think Carlos would, either. But those things had a way of getting around -- and he wasn't going to hide his feelings. Even if it meant taking some teasing from his colleagues, and even if it created a rift with Fin, he wasn't going to hold back.

Carlos' arms were around him, and almost before he realized what was happening, the other man's lips were on his, the kiss starting out gently. It was no more than a brush of lips, the warmth of Carlos' body against his, those strong arms drawing him closer.

Then, within seconds, the kiss had turned into a roaring conflagration, the flames of desire threatening to burn out of control. Greg wondered if they would make it to his apartment before they tried to devour each other, throwing all caution to the winds.

He almost moaned when Carlos' lips left his; he wanted more of that kiss, more of the closeness, the warmth of Carlos' body so close to his own. He didn't want that kiss to end; he was being forced to return from the dream world of their own making back into reality, and he didn't want to.

"I'm so into you," Carlos whispered, his breath warm against Greg's skin. "I want to spend all day making love to you, but I don't think the parking lot is the best place to do that. We need to get inside so I can strip all of your clothes off and kiss you all over. Preferably in a bed."

"I want to do the same thing to you," Greg breathed, wondering even as he said the words just where they had come from. When he was with a man, he almost never ended up being the more dominant partner. But there was something about Carlos that made him want to be.

"That sounds great to me," Carlos told him, that devastating smile flashing at Greg again. "Whatever you want, Greg. I'll let you do anything to me that your heart desires. As long as I get to do the same to you. All day and all night That is, if you've got tonight off work."

Greg laughed, the sound a little breathless. "Yeah, I do," he murmured, resisting the impulse to lean forward and kiss Carlos again. "Good thing our schedules ended up being pretty much the same, huh?" Though he had the feeling that it hadn't been an accident.

"Oh, I made sure of that," Carlos told him, sliding an arm around Greg's waist as the two of them turned in the direction of Greg's apartment. "I've had my eye on you for a while, Greg. I just wanted to make sure that you weren't already spoken for before I made my move."

"Anybody could have told you that," Greg protested, a smile curving his lips. "You just wanted to use that as an excuse to find out from the horse's mouth, didn't you?" he asked, pleased and flattered that Carlos hadn't resorted to asking behind his back if he was available.

"Look where it got me," Carlos said, leaning over to brush his lips across Greg's cheek. "If I'd asked everybody else around the crime lab, then I wouldn't have been able to get right to the point with you. I'd have had to wait, and beat around the bush. And I'm way too into you for that."

"I'm into you, too," Greg told him, stopping in front of his apartment and turning to gaze into Carlos' eyes. "I've been into you for a while now. I just didn't want to say anything because I was worried I'd be a rebound for you. But now, I'm thinking that isn't the case."

"Not at all," Carlos said as Greg opened the door, then stood back to let the other man enter the apartment first. He followed Carlos inside, closing the door behind him before turning back to face Carlos as he dropped his keys on the table by the front door.

He gasped when Carlos wrapped strong arms around his waist to pull him close, that delectable mouth on his again in another kiss that took his breath away. "Sorry," Carlos murmured against his mouth. "I'm so into you, I can't hold back. I hope you're ready for this."

Greg didn't answer; he merely took Carlos' face between his hands and kissed back, with all the pent-up desire he'd been feeling. They could talk about where their relationship was headed later; right now, all he could think of was the here and now, and what was going to happen next.
