Summary: A slow night in the crime lab makes Greg a little crazy.

There were days when working in the lab wasn't so bad; Greg knew he'd never be completely satisfied being a lab rat, but sometimes it was okay. Racing one of the other techs for answers to a case could be fun, and when the investigators were around it gave him someone to talk to.

Unfortunately for him, tonight wasn't one of those nights. In fact, tonight was the kind of night he hated most of all; nothing was going on, the only lab work was routine and involved a lot of sitting around and waiting for results, and everyone else on shift seemed to have disappeared. As far as he knew there wasn't anything going on, though, so he wasn't sure where everyone was. But no matter where they were or what they were doing it meant he was stuck entertaining himself, and that meant he was in for a really long night.

He let out another exaggerated sigh and looked up from the samples he'd been staring at for the past half hour, looking around to confirm that no one had come back from the field yet. At least no one had come into his lab; it was possible there was something going on somewhere else in the building. As soon as the idea occurred to him he was standing up and checking to make sure there was nothing that needed his attention before he set off down the hall.

He checked the break room first, then the conference room. There was no one in Grissom's office, and the only people in the halls were other bored technicians looking for something to do. He couldn't remember the last time the crime lab had been so dead; the quiet was starting to make his skin crawl, and he was pretty sure if he didn't find something to entertain him soon he was going to go crazy. Well, crazier than usual, anyway.

Another sweep of the main floor didn't get him any further, though, and he finally resigned himself to the fact that he was just going to be bored out of his mind all night. At the moment he would have given anything to see Catherine or Sara so he'd have someone to tease; he wouldn't even have minded if Nick showed up with a brooding Warrick in tow. At least then he'd have someone to take his mind off the boredom for a few minutes, or at the very least, someone to suffer with him. Even Grissom would have been a welcome sight, if only to look at Greg like he was crazy so he'd know that he hadn't really lost his mind.

He was still trying to work out the logic of that thought when a hand closed around his arm, and before he had time to react he was being pulled out of the hallway and into a dark storage closet. And okay, being kidnapped and held hostage in a closet wasn't something that happened on a regular basis, but he was still sane enough to be a little wary until a dim light switched on and he found Nick grinning at him from less than a foot away.

"Well I guess this is a switch, anyway," he said, more to himself than to Nick. He took the opportunity to glance around them, raising an eyebrow at the boxes of cleaning supplies and the mop bucket. "Is this your idea of ambience?"

"I had an impulse," Nick answered. He looked pretty pleased with himself – at least if the grin was any indication – and it was cute enough that Greg decided not to make a joke about what happened when Nick followed his impulses. He wasn't exactly the spontaneous type, after all, but at least he was trying.

"So how'd you ditch your shadow?"

"Warrick? He's down in the auto shop looking at paint shavings on a fender. It'll take him awhile to notice I'm gone."

"You mean you gave up the excitement of paint shavings to kidnap me? I'm flattered."

Nick's smile faltered a little and instantly Greg felt guilty for sounding so sarcastic, but before he had a chance to take it back Nick shrugged and took a step toward him. "I figured since it was so dead in here tonight you'd be going a little stir-crazy by now."

As he spoke he reached for the front of Greg's lab coat, closing his fist around the material and hauling the smaller man closer. "Anything I can do to help you out with that?"

So maybe he was losing his mind after all, because the Nick he'd been sleeping with for over a month now would never do something like this. He was so uptight about the fact that they worked together that he'd barely take a chance on kissing Greg in public, let alone making out in a closet while they were both on duty. Especially while they were on duty, because if somebody caught them they'd have a lot of explaining to do. He still wasn't all that convinced that Grissom would care that they were dating, but there was a big difference between what they did on their own time and what they did while they were on the clock.

Not that he was going to bring up anything that might make Nick change his mind now.

"I could definitely think of a few things," he said, his hands already busy working Nick's shirt out of his jeans. "How much time have you got?"

And there was that grin again, the one that made him feel weak in the knees no matter how many times he saw it. In fact, that smile was the whole reason he'd worked so hard to get Nick to forget about the fact that they worked together long enough to take a chance on them. It had taken him forever, but every single minute of cajoling and reasoning and sometimes downright begging had been worth it. He was pretty sure Nick felt the same way, or they probably wouldn't be groping each other in a storage closet and risking both their jobs.

Risking his own job was the last thing on his mind at the moment, especially when Nick pushed his collar aside with impatient fingers and leaned down to lick a wet path across Greg's neck. Greg shivered when Nick let out a hot breath against his wet skin, then let out a breathy gasp when Nick bit down on his skin hard enough to leave a mark. He barely had time to register the sharp mixture of pain and pleasure before the pressure let up, then warm lips brushed over the spot. And he had no idea what had brought on Nick's sudden change in personality, but there was no way he was stopping long enough to find out. His fingers tightened in Nick's hair as he opened his mouth against Greg's neck, evidently determined to leave a mark that no one would be able to miss.

Greg was breathless and twisting in Nick's grip by the time he let up, although even he wasn't sure whether he was trying to get closer or further away. Mostly he just wanted to get them out of as many clothes as possible, but considering they were wedged between a set of mops and stacks of boxes there wasn't a lot of room to maneuver. That was okay, though; he might not have chosen the same venue, but he was willing to work with what they had, especially if it meant Nick might try on a little spontaneity more often.

He managed to work his hands under the other man's shirt, ghosting his fingers along Nick's stomach in just the right place…and there it was, that breathy little shiver against his neck. Greg smiled and turned his head to find Nick's mouth, swallowing a groan as their lips met for the first time since Nick had ambushed him. He took advantage of Nick's distraction to unbutton his jeans, easing the zipper down with one hand as he worked his other hand under the heavy fabric.

Nick gasped against his mouth when Greg's hand curled around his cock, one strong hand clamping down on the back of Greg's neck to hold him in place while Nick rocked against him. And he couldn't remember seeing Nick quite this needy before, but it definitely looked good on him. Later he'd have to remember to ask what brought it on, but for now he was planning to enjoy it while it lasted. He tightened his grip and stroked a little faster, relinquishing Nick's mouth with an audible gasp so he could watch the emotions play over the other man's face.

That was one thing Nick was terrible at; he couldn't keep his emotions off his face no matter how hard he tried, and it was one of the things Greg liked best about him. Watching Nick come had become his favorite pastime, partly because he could tell just by watching Nick's face everything that was going through his mind. His favorite thing was when Nick opened his eyes to watch Greg watching him, but right now his eyes were shut tight and their foreheads were pressed together as Nick thrust into his grip. It was weird watching him from this close up, but it was one of those experiences he could definitely file under 'I could get used to this'. That was where almost every new thing he learned about Nick went, and there were a few things that were already starting to fall under the heading of 'I don't think I could live without this'. It was a little scary to admit that even to himself, but he'd never been the type to try to lie to himself.

Nick was the one who lied to himself; first that there was nothing between them, and even now Greg had a suspicion that he was still trying to convince himself he could walk away any time. Only most people didn't go around risking their jobs for a quickie in a storage closet, something Greg had already decided to take as a good sign. Another good sign was the way Nick was panting against him, hot breath warming Greg's cheek as Nick's eyes squeezed shut even tighter. A few seconds later he came with a heavy shudder, his whole body sagging against Greg while he panted for breath.

Greg waited patiently while he caught his breath, stroking Nick's slowly softening cock a few more times before he let go and glanced around for something to wipe his hand on. He finally caught sight of a rag and let go of Nick long enough to reach for it, wiping his hand as clean as he could before he turned to take in the sight of Nick leaning back against the wall, his face flushed and his pants still open. And that was a sight he definitely wanted to remember for future reference; it would give him something to think about the next time he found himself bored out of his mind, anyway. He grinned at the thought and took a few steps toward the other man, reaching down to zip him up before he looked up at Nick again.

He opened his mouth to make a joke about Nick's stamina, but before he got the words out Nick was hauling him forward again. A second later he couldn't even remember what he'd been about to say, because Nick's mouth was moving against his and suddenly he found himself up against the wall. He had no idea how Nick had managed that, but he definitely wasn't complaining. Instinctively he arched against the other man, but Nick's hands gripped his hips and held him fast against the wall. He took his time kissing Greg, ignoring the needy, frustrated whimpers punctuating the silence of the closet.

And now Greg was sure he was going to go insane, because Nick didn't seem to be in any hurry to do much more than kiss him. Just when he was sure he couldn't take any more Nick finally released his mouth and let go of his hips, then he dropped to his knees and reached for the button on Greg's pants. Everything went a little hazy after that, but Greg fought to keep his eyes open so he could watch as Nick's mouth closed around the head of his cock. He knew it was a losing battle, but it was worth it when the other man's gaze flickered up to meet his. As soon as their eyes met Greg groaned and finally gave up fighting it, letting his eyes fall closed and arching into the wet heat that was quickly becoming the center of his universe.

Time folded in on itself, Grissom and the lab and everything past Nick's mouth fading out of existence until all that mattered was the two of them. He wanted this to last forever; Nick's fingers digging into the pale skin of his hips, Nick's tongue doing that thing that Greg still hadn't figured out but couldn't get enough of. And Nick was way too good at this, because way too soon Greg was tensing and digging his fingernails into his palms with the effort not to scream. He was aware enough of the risk they were taking to stop himself from shouting out Nick's name when he came, but the effort left him breathless and shaking as he leaned back heavily against the wall.

He managed to summon enough energy to run a weak hand through Nick's hair as the other man carefully tucked him back into his pants and zipped him up again, then Nick stood up and he found himself being kissed for all he was worth. When Nick finally let him up for air his head was spinning, and he was thankful that the other man was pressed against him so he wouldn't slide right down the wall to collapse on the floor.

"Something happen tonight that I should know about?" he finally managed to ask, raising an eyebrow when Nick smirked at him.

"No. I just figured you could use a little distraction, that's all. I saw you pacing the halls, you looked a little restless."

"Oh. Thanks." This time Nick raised an eyebrow, but Greg's brain was still too fried to think of an appropriate rejoinder.

"So did it help?"

And he should have seen this part coming, because Nick could be a smug bastard when he really wanted to be. Greg mostly didn't mind, though, especially when he was on the receiving end of whatever Nick was being smug about. "I think so. Still a few hours left on shift, though. Well, I think there are, anyway. How long have we been in here?"

Nick grinned again and lifted his wrist long enough to glance at his watch. "Not that long. But if you're still feeling restless you can come back to my place when our shift ends."

"Best offer I've had all night," Greg answered, smiling indulgently as Nick straightened his lab coat and then leaned forward to kiss him again. He never would have thought Nick was capable of something like this; maybe he really had gone crazy at some point during the night, but if this was the result then he was pretty sure he could live with it.
