A/N: Me and my good friend white_rose01 often set each other drabble challenges when we're bored online. This one came out (as it were) tonight, and I thought: "Hey! This is just about fluffy enough to be a challenge fic!" I apologise in advance for the sickly sweet nature of this cheese, but take comfort in the fact that it's not too long due to its drabblish nature =)

Nick was freezing cold, and wondering why he'd ever agreed to a picnic in the moonlight. True, he had thought it sounded kind of romantic when Greg suggested it, like something you'd see in the movies. Only the movies didn't show you how cold it got at night. He had six layers on, and was still feeling slightly chilly, whereas Greg seemed to be in his element. He had his thermos of coffee and was sat there grinning at Nick, not talking, just grinning. Nick checked his watch: it was quarter to five in the morning, and hopefully the sun would be coming up soon. He glanced up at Greg, and saw that he was still there with the coffee in his hands and that dopey grin on his face.

"All right, what gives Greg? Why are you staring at me?"

Instead of looking self-conscious and embarrassed as Nick thought he would, Greg just smiled wider and moved to sit next to him.

"I was just thinking. It's freezing cold, it's very early in the morning and we're in the middle of the desert. I should be miserable, but I'm not. Know why?"

Nick shook his head.

"Because I'm here with the most amazing person in the world, and the fact that he even agreed to this crazy scheme shows that he loves me nearly as much as I love him. I know that this hasn't been your favourite trip, I don't even need to talk to you to hear you speak Nick. I know your face, your expressions, I know you better than I know myself and I love you more than words can say. So that's why I'm staring and that's why I'm smiling."

Having finished his speech, Greg finally adopted the self-conscious expression that Nick had thought would grace his face previously. In that moment, Nick felt his heart swell and knew that Greg meant more to him than anybody else ever had or ever would. He hugged Greg close to him and kissed him, knowing that that gesture would say more than his ramblings could ever do. Breaking apart for a moment, Greg looked into his eyes.

"Weren't we meant to be watching the sun rise?"

"Don't have to, G. I've got all the sunshine I need right now."
