summary: Nick thinks that he's losing his lovers and doesn't know what to do about it, but Warrick and Gil have other things in mind.

Nick laughed helplessly as Warrick blew a raspberry on his stomach, curling up and grabbing the other man's hair to make him stop.

"Ow!" Warrick exclaimed. "Watch it, Stokes!"

"You started it!"

"Boys, boys, boys. If you don't behave, I'll finish it."

Still gasping with laughter, Nick looked over at the door to find Gil grinning at them. "But Dad, he started it!"

Eyes rolling, Gil strolled into the room and said, "If you ever call me that again, I'll make sure you can't sit down for a week and it won't be because I've fucked you silly."

Warrick crowed and started tickling Nick again. Then Gil was there and two sets of hands were working him over, sending him into gales of laughter. He finally had to gasp, "Stop! Stop! Uncle! I give!"

The tickle attack stopped eventually, to be replaced with caresses and kisses. Two sets of mouths, two tongues, four hands and twenty fingers, all focused on him. Gil was fully recovered from the shooting and while Nick sometimes still had nightmares, with his two lovers' help, and counseling, he was getting over the kidnapping.

Times like this, helped. A lot.

Arching against Warrick's mouth, which was sucking intently on his cock, Nick moaned in happiness when Gil's shaft pushed into his open mouth. The older man was still dressed, his belt cold against Nick's chest only a minute until it warmed on his skin. He sucked hard and fast, then didn't have to suck at all because Gil was thrusting into him, fucking his throat. His fingers gripped Gil's ass, pulling him in tight and holding him inside.

Crying out as Nick swallowed, Gil came hard, his hips pushing his cock even further down Nick's throat. He just managed to finish swallowing the last of the come when Warrick's cock breached him. Head dropping back onto the pillow, releasing Gil, Nick moaned in pleasure as the thick cock started fucking him in earnest.

Gil dropped to the side and took hold of Nick's dick, pumping it in a tight grip. Between the dual sensations, Nick was sure he'd lose his mind. Then Warrick hit his prostate a few times in a row, slamming into him, and he shouted, coming, and did lose his mind.

When Nick woke later, he was nestled in Gil's arms and Warrick was pressed against him from the back, a heavy arm thrown over his waist. Yawning, he contemplated moving then decided to wait and see if he could go back to sleep.

"No, please, not Nicky…"

The tortured whisper almost didn't register, it was so quiet. Nick stiffened and gazed at Gil's face to find it pained, to see the brow furrowed with fear. Rubbing his hand gently over the scratchy chest hair, Nick moved even closer, throwing a leg over Gil's hip and murmuring, "I'm all right, Gil, everything's fine. I'm safe, lover, I'm safe."

The frown remained, though it lessened somewhat, and Gil sighed, "Nicky."

Nick kissed the soft beard, then moved to the cheek. "I'm safe, Gil, safe. You saved me. No more nightmares, lover. Just sleep, all right? Sleep, Gil."

That subliminal message seemed to work, or the kissing, or both. Gil sighed deeply and shifted to wrap an arm around Nick before falling into a deeper sleep.

Nick sighed as well, but knew that he was awake until nightfall when they would get up and go to work. The last few weeks had been good, but they'd been bad, too. Gil had been handling him with kid gloves, as if waiting for him to break, and there had been a distance between them that hadn't been there since the beginning.

And now to find out that he didn't even trust Nick enough to talk about his own nightmares…

Sighing again, Nick tried unsuccessfully to push away the thought that he was losing Gil. Because if he lost Gil, what was to keep Warrick with him?

* * * *

Gil frowned over at Nick, who was still quiet even after given a choice assignment to work with Catherine and Warrick. They were just heading out, while he and Sara were going to work a robbery-homicide. Usually, the young man would be exuberant and teasing Warrick about how to handle things.

"Grissom?"

Turning his wandering attention to Sara, Gil smiled. "Ready when you are."

She nodded and they, too, headed out. Once in the car, she said, "I'm glad you're back, Grissom. It wasn't the same here without you."

Gil smiled again and looked over at her. The words and tone had been awkward, as they always were when Sara got into a discussion that involved feelings. "Thank you, Sara. I appreciate that."

"I uh, I was wondering something."

"What's that?"

"I know we tried this before, but, would you like to, ah, go on a date?"

Blinking in surprise, Gil again looked over at Sara. Her eyes met his briefly before returning to the road.

"It's just that…almost losing you like that, I've been thinking a lot about how things went down between us and I realized that it didn't have to be like that. I was pushy and overbearing, I know, and I can't promise to change overnight, but I like you, Gil. A lot. And I'd like another chance."

Gil sighed. "Sara…"

"It's okay, just, you know, think about it. Okay?"

They arrived at the crime scene then and the earnest look she gave him sent a ton of guilt screaming through him. He forced a smile and nodded. "Sure. I'll think about it."

Smiling now, Sara practically hopped out of the car, humming.

Warrick was going to kill him.

* * * *

"You did what?"

Wincing at the loud exclamation, Gil replied, "I couldn't say no right off the bat, Warrick."

"Sure you could. All you had to say was that you were involved."

"And she would have asked with whom."

"And you should've said, ‘none of your damn business!'"

Closing the distance between them, wishing that Nick were there to smooth things over, Gil gripped Warrick's arm and apologized, "I'm sorry. I should have, you're right. But she was so…"

Warrick scowled, but sighed, relenting a little. "Yeah. And it's not like I can fault her taste or nothing."

Half-smiling, Gil rubbed Warrick's arm and said, "I really am sorry. I'll find some way to make it up to you and let her down easy, I promise."

"Don't bother."

Both men stiffened in alarm at Sara's cold statement. Gil had been so focused on Warrick, that he hadn't even thought to lock his door. Swallowing nervously, Gil dropped his hand from Warrick and cautioned, "Sara, don't do anything stupid here."

"Stupid?" she exclaimed incredulously. "Stupid? How about low-down and dirty? The both of you! Never mind what this says about you leading me on, Grissom, but how could you do this to Nick? He'd be devastated if he found out you were cheating on him, Warrick!"

Mouth gaping open, Gil looked at Warrick, but saw that he was equally as stunned.

"How did you…"

That was all Warrick got out before she snapped, "It's really fucking obvious, Warrick! He thinks the sun rises and sets on you! Shit. You know what? I don't even care, but you better tell Nick before I do."

"Sara, wait!"

But she was gone, the door slamming behind her.

Still shocked at what had happened, Gil couldn't say anything at first. When he finally looked over at Warrick, he managed, "So. Do you want to tell Nick, or should I?"

Warrick started laughing, shaking his head at the absurdity of the situation. "You know what, man? It's all you. You started this mess, you clean it up. And don't expect any help from my corner, either."

Sourly, Gil replied, "Thanks."

Warrick watched with amusement as Gil tried to work up the courage to tell Nick what had happened in his office. The entire morning had been spent with Gil doing little things to butter their other lover up. And Warrick knew that Nick had figured out that something was up that he wasn't going to like, but Nick was fully up for making Gil squirm.

Sitting on the leather chair as he nominally watched television, Warrick glanced sidelong at Nick and Gil on the sofa, the older man rubbing Nick's feet as they all didn't watch the game. Grinning evilly to himself, Warrick asked, "Talk to Sara lately, Nick?"

Nick tossed him a surprised look and answered, "Not since we got our assignments. Why?"

"Oh, no reason. She just seemed…upset about something," Warrick explained innocently.

Gil practically growled, "Warrick…"

"Okay. What is going on?" Nick demanded, pulling his feet from Gil's hands. "I'm obviously missing something."

Sighing, Gil said, "Sara asked me out tonight and I didn't exactly tell her no."

Nick's jaw dropped. "Excuse me?"

"It gets better," Warrick prompted.

"Better?"

Gil glared at him, then looked at Nick and continued, "I felt bad, telling her no, so I said I'd think about it. Then, later, when I was talking to Warrick in my office and, ah, she caught us together."

"You assholes! You said no more sex in the office!" Nick exclaimed indignantly.

"No no!" Gil assured him hastily. "Not sex! I was just apologizing to Warrick about Sara, and she walked in and immediately jumped to almost the right conclusions. She thinks that you and Warrick are lovers, and that Warrick is cheating on you, with me."

Nick's jaw snapped shut. It opened and shut once more. Then, finally, he said, "This is not good."

"On the other hand, at least she'll stop hitting on Gris now," Warrick pointed out, grinning.

"Not funny," Nick stated, getting to his feet and pacing, agitated.

Surprised by the overreaction, Warrick looked over at Gil, but found him equally as mystified by Nick's behavior. Standing as well, he crossed over to Nick and stopped the pacing by taking hold of his arm. "Nick, baby, what is it? What's wrong?"

Looking up into Warrick's eyes, clearly miserable, Nick admitted, "I hate that we can't be open about our relationship. I hate that Gil has to put up with women going after him when he's ours and they've got no right. And I really hate that I can't tell everyone how much I love the two of you."

"Aw, baby, c'mere," Warrick murmured, pulling Nick into his arms. He kissed the top of Nick's head and said, "We'll figure this out, okay? It won't be that hard. You'll tell Sara that I came groveling to you begging for forgiveness and the Gil will swear to her it'll never happen again. Easy as pie."

"That's not the point!" Nick exclaimed, struggling out of Warrick's arms.

"What is the point, Nicky?" Gil asked quietly.

Nick looked over at him, haunted, and said, "You're having nightmares and you won't tell us about them! You didn't tell me, and I'm the one they're about! Do you know how much I feel like you don't trust me? And you're not saying no to a woman because, why? Because you feel bad for her? I think it's because you're having second thoughts about all of this. About us."

Horror skirted across Gil's face as he replied firmly, "No chance. Nicky, I love you and I love Warrick."

Huddled in on himself, Nick shook his head. "Maybe it's not enough."

Shocked, Warrick watched as Nick ran out the front door, grabbing his coat on the way out. Feeling blindsided, which was how Gil looked, he gasped, "What just happened?"

"I wish I knew," Gil replied, staring at the door Nick had just run out of.

* * * *

Nick wound up at his old townhouse, still his in name only, really, since they all spent most of their time at Grissom's. He sighed as he picked up the mail and headed up the stairs to his front door. To his surprise, Sara was waiting at the top step and he stopped short.

"Hey."

"Ah, hey."

She sighed and asked, "He told you?"

"Yeah," Nick agreed. Thankful that he'd been back only a couple of days ago and it wouldn't smell dusty, he offered, "You want to come in?"

"Sure."

They went inside and Nick grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge, handing one to Sara as he sat opposite her at the kitchen table.

"Nick, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have forced the issue, but you don't deserve that," Sara apologized quietly.

Half-smiling, Nick replied, "Thanks, Sara. I appreciate you looking out for me, but you don't have to."

"No, it's okay. I mean, we're friends, right?" she said awkwardly.

Nick nodded and held out his beer. "To friendship."

She clinked her bottle against his and smiled. "To friendship."

He couldn't talk about the real problem, the fact that he felt like he was losing Gil to the ‘real' world, but the fact that she was there was a consolation of sorts. They talked quietly for almost an hour, then Sara excused herself to go home and get some sleep. He walked her to the door and watched until she got in her car.

That was when he spotted Gil's car across the street and sighed. They'd probably seen Sara's vehicle in the driveway and were just waiting for her to leave. Sure enough, the moment she drove away, doors opened and Warrick and Gil both got out. Tempted to lock the door, Nick left it open simply because he knew Warrick would make a racket to be let in.

He leaned against the wall, waiting for them to get inside, then waited more for one of them to say something.

Gil took the lead with, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the nightmares, Nicky, I should have. I didn't mean to make you feel like I didn't trust you. I simply felt as if you had enough on your shoulders and didn't want to add to it."

"I should be the judge of that," Nick replied quietly.

"I know. I'm sorry," Gil repeated. He glanced at Warrick before continuing, "It won't happen again. And, I think maybe you've gotten the wrong idea about the last few weeks, since we've been back from New York."

Nick frowned. "What do you mean?"

"We were going to surprise you," Warrick said. "We thought it would be nice to have a good surprise for a change."

Nodding, Gil pulled out a set of keys and tossed them at Nick, who caught them neatly.

Still frowning, Nick asked, "What are these?"

"We put a deposit down on a house, pending your approval," Gil explained.

Shock ran through Nick and he gasped, "A house?"

Smiling now, Gil stepped closer and nodded, saying, "It's in a nice neighborhood, further from work, but we figured that it was worth it, considering the amenities and yard."

A smile tugged at his lips as Nick looked between his lovers. Happy disbelief was still rushing through him and he said, "You wanted to surprise me."

Warrick grinned and joined them, sliding his arm around Nick's waist. "Yeah, baby, we did. We didn't mean to hurt you, or make you doubt us."

"You really wanted to surprise me," Nick repeated, grinning full force. "No one's ever wanted to do something like this for me before."

Gil surrounded him from the other side and nuzzled his throat with, "We did. We love you, Nicky. I love you. So much."

Finally letting himself believe it, Nick threw his arms around Gil and held tight, burying his face against his older lover while Warrick pressed against him from behind. Strong arms surrounded him from front and back, and Nick sighed happily, too full of emotion to say anything.
