Speed was at Ryan's house as he was the only one who he could talk to, the only one who knew the truth about the two of them and that was only because Ryan's relationship with Horatio was a lot closer than everybody thought it was. Speed's thoughts slowly drifted back to when he found out the truth...

Eight Months Earlier

Speed and Horatio had only been together for a couple of months and Horatio had invited him over as he had something important to tell him. They had just finished up their dinner when someone came in. Speed looked at him curiously but stopped when he saw how nervous he looked.

When the man walked in Horatio said, "Ryan, this is my boyfriend," At this Speed's eyebrows rose. They had both agreed not to tell anyone about their relationship and Horatio was introducing him as his boyfriend. "Speed... Ryan is my son," he said almost hesitantly waiting to see how he would react.

Horatio relaxed when he saw Speed smile. Speed hugged Ryan and said, "Wow. I had no idea H had a son, I'm glad to have met you."

"I'm glad to have finally met you! Dad won't shut up about you," Ryan said grinning from ear to ear.

"I do so," H said under his breath causing Speed and Ryan to laugh at him.

They got along really well which H was glad about. He had been hesitant in letting Speed know the truth, but he thought he deserved it.

Present

As Speed sat next to Ryan he started to cry. He leant his head on his shoulder just sobbing quietly while Ryan rubbed soothing circles around his back.

"How can I go on?" Speed asked him chocking on his words, "I still can't believe it happened to him."

"We'll get through this, Dad will have wanted us to," Ryan told Speed tightening his hug around him. They just sat like that for awhile listening to the radio. Speed suddenly sat up as a song came on

My Lover's gone,

His boots are no longer by my door,

He left at dawn,

And as I slept I felt him go returns no more,

I will not watch the ocean,

My lover's gone,

No earthly ships will ever bring him home again,

Bring him home again

My lover's gone,

I know that kiss will be my last,

No more his song

The tune upon his lips has passed I sing alone

While I watch the ocean,

My lover's gone,

No earthly ships will ever bring him home again,

Bring him home again

"That's...that's so right. It explains what I feel."

"I know, Speed I know. We're going to make it through this. Dad wouldn't have wanted us to give up.
