Title: Told Him So
Author: amazonqueenkate
Rating: G
Pairing: Greg/Nick
Summary: She tried to tell him, but he didn't listen until it was too late.
Notes: None, really. Just that I wrote this quickly, after being bitter this evening. Other than that....

She'd known it was a bad idea from the start.

The baring of a soul, putting everything out for the world to see, naked and shivering, had never been a good idea. Not in the very history of mankind. And so, when he'd mentioned it in passing over a cup of post-shift coffee, she'd told him that. Told him it was a bad idea, the very worst idea, and that he'd live to regret it. She'd felt that pain, been on the recieving end of that burden. If anyone knew how it felt, she did.

And now, three days later, Greg was crying quietly in the back of the locker room, his head down and eyes closed, the moisture glinting in the dim overhead light. And, while she hadn't talked to Nick as he stormed down the hall and disappeared around the corner, she'd recognized all the emotions masking his expression: hurt, anger, disgust, sadness, and fear.

So she sat down on the bench and patted Greg on the back, running her nails up his spine and blurting out the first light-hearted words that came to her lips and knowing only afterwards - when his tear filled eyes glanced up at her and then prompty brimmed over - how horrible they really were:

"Told you so."

Oh, and bonus points if you can figure out who "she" is, since I never state it. ;)
