Gil had been pulling his hair out, trying to get everything done. Business on the night shift was booming. Sophia was out with the flu, so this left Gil short-handed. He was trying desperately to find someone to help out. There were just too many cases and not enough people to cover them all.

Warrick was on his way out the door when Gil caught up to him. He noticed that Gil looked a bit frenzied and Warrick thought about making a run for it. Unfortunately, Warrick wasn't fast enough.

"Hey Warrick."

"Gris. What's up?"

"Ah, we're kind of bogged down. Sophia's out sick and I've been called to a crime scene in the desert, about thirty-five miles out. I hate to ask, but I need you. Will you go with me?"

"I'm kinda beat. You couldn't find Nick?"

"Well, I didn't look for Nick besides I'd rather have you…ah…I mean out in the desert."

Warrick gave Gil a mischievous little grin before saying "Sure, but I'm driving."

"I can drive. I know how tired you are."

"I'll be fine. I'd rather take my car, if that's ok?"

"That's fine. I'm ready, if you are?"

"Let's roll."

It's one thirty A.M. in the middle of a desert, on a Tuesday. There's not much going on. Too bad that wasn't the case for Warrick's Tahoe. About twenty-five miles into the trip Warrick's engine started to smoke. I mean his car engine--that is. It sputtered, coughed and took a last breath before it died.

"Mother-fucker!"

"Warrick. That's not going to help."

"Yeah, I know, but it makes me feel better."

"Just pop the hood and take a look at it. Have you got a flashlight?"

"Yes, of course. I always come prepared. I don't understand it. I just had the car tuned up."

"I don't know."

"Ok, I'll take a look."

Warrick went around to the back and grabbed the flashlight. He popped the hood and stared at the engine for several seconds. He yelled at Gil, "Try it." Gil turned the key and got nothing. The engine wouldn't even turn over. Warrick closed the hood and got back in the car. Gil looked at him, hopefully.

"It's dead."

"It's--dead."

"Yeah, that's what I said."

"I knew that. Can you fix it?"

"Nope."

"That's just wonderful."

"Don't worry. I'll call for help."

Warrick dialed ahead to the crime scene. David should still be there. Unfortunately, Warrick's cell kept saying, searching for service. This was aggravating as hell.

"I can't get anyone on the cell. We must be out of range."

"I'll try mine."

Gil dialed his phone with the same result. It was at that moment that Gil, took a good look around. He didn't recognize anything. That was strange. Where were they?

"Ah, Warrick."

"Yeah."

"Where are we? This doesn't look like the main road."

"Um…I…ah, think you're right. It's not the main road. I don't know how we got on this road. We were on the main road when we started out."

"You didn't doze off, did you?"

"Of course not! I've never fallen asleep while driving, but I'm not sure how we got here. You didn't notice that we'd left the main road?"

"No, but then I wasn't really paying attention. Get the map out."

Warrick hauled out the map and they started looking at it intently. They knew where they had started from, but they didn't know where they had ended up. They finally figured out that about twenty miles out of town, they'd veered off the main road, onto a side road. Warrick thought he knew what road they were on and if they took it for another eight miles, it would reconnect with the main road. The problem was, they would have to walk.

"I don't think so. It's dark and cold. Eight miles is a long way."

"You think we should just wait here?"

"Yes. That makes the most sense. When we don't show up at the scene, someone's going to come looking for us"

"Yeah, but we're not on the main road. It'll be harder for them to find us."

"They're smart. They'll figure it out."

"Ok. I've got blankets and pillows in the back. There's a cooler with water and snacks in it. We'll be fine. Lets move the kit's up here, so we'll have plenty of room."

Gil thought, ‘Trapped in the desert, in the back of a Tahoe with Warrick. It could be worse.' Actually, Gil thought this had definite possibilities. All he had to do was get Warrick to cooperate.

*******************************************************************************************************************

They climbed into the back after moving the equipment to the front seat. Warrick spread out the blankets and fluffed the pillows. He pulled two waters out of the cooler and handed one to Gil. Gil accepted the water and a candy bar before they settled down to get some sleep. Gil wasn't tried, but he knew Warrick was. So he laid there in silence for a while, but when he didn't here the normal sounds of sleep Gil questioned, "Can't sleep?"

"I guess not. I was really tired too. Maybe, it's because I'm a little cold."

"Would you like me to warm you up?"

"What'd have in mind?"

"We could huddle together and share body heat."

"Ok."

They moved closer together and Gil put his arm around Warrick's waist, letting his hand rest on Warrick's back. It wasn't long before Gil started gently massaging Warrick's back and pressing just a bit closer with every caress. Warrick was loosening up and his breathing was coming faster. Gil had pulled Warrick close to him and was now nibbling on his neck. "Ah…Gil, is there something I can do for you?"

"Only if you want to. Do you know how long I've wanted to kiss you?"

"No. It's a surprise to me, but a nice surprise. I never thought we'd be doing this--not in a million years."

"Well we're not doing anything yet. Are you sure you want to?"

"Oh man, I'm very sure."

With that being said, Warrick rolled on top of the older man and kissed him seductively. He slid his tongue into Gil's mouth. Gil moaned into the kiss, causing Warrick to shudder--bringing their erections into contact, for the first time. Gil bucked his hips at the contact and Warrick began unbuttoning Gil's shirt. Gil's hands had not been idle either. He had Warrick's pants unzipped and his t-shirt almost pulled over his head. Warrick aided the process and pulled it off the rest of the way. Warrick then started on Gil's pants, just as Gil latched onto one of Warrick's nipples. "Oh my God, Gil!"

Gil had his hands firmly planted on Warrick's ass and was thrusting hard against him. The heat in the Tahoe was now palpable and steam had begun to rise. Warrick was thrusting in rhythm with Gil's thrusts and they were both moaning. Gil caught Warrick off guard and easily flipped him onto his back. Gil went after Warrick's mouth, earlobe and throat. Then he worried a hard nipple until Warrick was left whimpering and writhing with pleasure.

Warrick had never been one to beg, but it seemed like a good thing to do, at this moment in time.

"Gil, please? Please, need you. Oh God, need you--now!"

"Ah, Warrick…we...we don't have any lube. I don't want to hurt you."

"Vaseline...Intensive Care...in the black bag. Get it."

"You really do come prepared. I'm beginning to appreciate that."

Gil grabbed the bag and pulled out the Vaseline Intensive Care. He lubed his fingers and gingerly inserted one inside Warrick's tight passage. Warrick gasped and bore down on Gil's finger. Encouraged by this, Gil inserted a second finger and began to thrust them in and out. He scissored them back and forth and then shoved in a third. This time he angled them upward and thrust hard, hitting Warrick's prostrate. "Oh, fuck. Oh, God, yes! Harder, Gil, Harder!"

Gil continued thrusting until he had Warrick all nice and open and pleading for mercy. Gil lavished Warrick with a long passionate kiss, as he slid his body across Warrick's. Gil pushed Warrick's knees above his head and speared him with his cock in one swift motion. Warrick cried out, but it was a cry of pleasure, not pain. "Oh God, Gil, please?" He was writhing and bucking underneath Gil and his cock was leaking a continuous stream of precome.

Gil strokes became harder and faster and he was shaking from the effort. Gil, could swear he saw skyrockets going off behind his eyes. Gil knew he wouldn't be able to hold out much longer, but the torture before the explosion, was exquisite. "Warrick…Warrick! Oh, sweet mother of God! You're so tight. Jesus Warrick! I've wanted to fuck you for so long. I can't hold on." Gil's thrusts had become erratic and Warrick was murmuring Gil's name, over and over. "Gil, come inside me. Come now! Oh, baby--please!

Gil's hand had a hold of Warrick's cock--stroking and twisting. His thumbnail grazed the head with each twist. Warrick shuddered violently and came hard in Gil's hand. He clenched his ass cheeks around Gil's cock--pushing Gil over the edge. Gil gasped and shouted his release. He eased his way out of Warrick and collapsed in a state of exhausted bliss. Warrick was panting and holding Gil tightly. Gil leaned in and kissed Warrick, tenderly. He had never felt such overwhelming passion and he thought he could get used to this.

After a little while Warrick moved and grabbed the tube of wet ones. He cleaned Gil up and then himself. Warrick was absolutely ecstatic. He couldn't believe it had actually happened. They redressed and huddled back up together--enjoying the closeness and the gentle nuzzling. Gil never thought he be in this situation with Warrick. So after a few minutes Gil questioned, "Warm enough now?"

"Oh yeah. I'm good. That was wonderful, but you should have told me a long time ago. Just think we could've been doing this for years. I like the way your body feels pressed close to mine."

"Me too. You are so gorgeous. It's been hard for me to even look at you, without drooling. I don't want this to be just one night. I want more. In fact, I want it all. That is, if you're willing?"

"Do you even have to ask? Truth is--I love you. I always have. I've loved you from the moment we met."

"Oh, sweetheart. I love you too. More than anything and we'll make this work I can be very determined when I set my mind to it."

"No kidding. Don't forget, I've seen your skills in action… Shit... Damn it."

"What?"

"I see headlights coming this way."

"Wonderful. That must be the rescue party."

"But I don't want to be rescued!"

"Well, I guess there's no help for it. I think that's David."

They were sitting up now with the blankets thrown off as David approached the vehicle. Warrick opened the back and yelled, "It's about time. We could have frozen to death."

"Hey, we've been looking all over for you guys. What happened?"

"Well, we broke down and our cell phones wouldn't work. So we just had to wait here for someone to find us."

"How'd ya get on this road? You're a little bit off the beaten path."

"Um... I'm not sure about that. Somehow we veered off the main road."

"Well, you look all nice and comfy."

"We were trying to stay warm, fool."

"Yeah, it's a bit chilly tonight." Come on. Get in the car. We'll call for a tow truck as soon as we're in range again. This was a hell of a way to spend your evening."

Gil couldn't stop the slight smirk that crept over his lips. "I guess it could have been a lot worse. I could've been stuck out here with Ecklie. I might've had to shoot him."

"That would've been hell, but at least it'd be a good place to get rid of the body."

Warrick was grinning and on the walk to David's car Gil whispered, "You've got to promise me something?"

"Anything!"

"Whenever we go for rides together--you make sure you get us good and lost."

"I'll make a note of it. Always take the road less traveled. No problem!
