"What are you doing?"

"Nothing." Nick shifted his weight and tried to look nonchalant, but even in the crappy fluorescent lab lighting Greg could see his ears turning pink.

"Liar," Greg said, grinning as Nick rolled his eyes. And now his cheeks were turning pink, so Greg knew he hadn't imagined it.

"Whatever. Are you ready to go or what?"

"I'm all yours," Greg answered as he tossed his soda can in the trash and turned to face Nick. He stretched his arms wide and grinned, watching Nick's face deepen from a slight flush to a deep red.

Nick cleared his throat and glanced past Greg to the hallway, automatically checking to make sure there was no one watching. And he wasn't sure if Nick still thought after all this time that they were fooling anybody, but he wasn't the type to ruin anyone's delusions.

"Let's get this over with, then," Nick said, reaching for the door and holding it so Greg could pass. As he stepped into the hall Greg looked over his shoulder, grin broadening as he watched Nick's gaze shift back down to his ass.

"You know, if you play your cards right I'll let you get a close-up later." Nick rolled his eyes again, but now he was really blushing, and it was all Greg could do not to kiss him right in the middle of the hallway. "I might even let you touch."

"Just focus on the case, Greg," Nick said through gritted teeth, one hand on Greg's shoulder to propel him toward the front door. Greg laughed and pushed the front door open, stepping out into the dark Las Vegas night. He didn't look back to see if Nick was still looking; he didn't have to, and if he did he wasn't sure he'd be able to keep his hands to himself until the end of their shift.

They reached Nick's truck and he opened his mouth to say something, but before he got the words out Nick's hand was back, only it wasn't on his shoulder this time.

"Don't say it," Nick said, voice close to his ear and hand lingering on his ass just long enough to make Greg's own face heat up a little. "Just…don't."

It was tempting to say it anyway, but instead Greg closed his mouth and headed for the passenger seat. After all, there would be plenty of time for talking after their shift, and Nick didn't mind at all when he talked in bed.
