Tim's hands moved diligently over the parts of the engine valve laid out before him. He was good at his job; there was no doubt about it. He loved it too. Few things made him feel better then really getting into his work. Knowing whatever evidence he produced in the lab may crack a case, or that his handiwork might bring in the bad guy, gave him reason to become so easily engrossed in his art. Tim's expression would change every so often and occasionally he'd mumble something inaudibly to himself, when he'd come across something new, something with the possibility of importance. But whatever his expression, it held the underlying sense of intense concentration, largely in his eyes. The way his eyes focused so thoroughly on the object at hand was the single most fervent look most will ever see on a man. The kind of look that if ever turned loose on some poor unsuspecting soul it might just burn a hole right through them. Horatio loved catching Tim like this. Just being able to watch him work, in his own little world completely oblivious to anything outside the lab, for that moment. Several minutes later, looking across the table top for the last piece of the valve he was to examine, Tim finally noticed the arm of a man in a rather fine, and familiar, suit rested on his workbench.

"H!" He inhaled sharply, "Sorry, I didn't see you there, how long have you been in here?"

"At least five minutes. Just thought I'd watch." Horatio shot him a clever smile and Tim seemed profusely embarrassed by his absent-mindedness, as he looked away from H and back to the parts, Tim thought ‘Watch what? The work or me?'

"Sorry," Tim chuckled. "I tend to get a little carried away…"

Horatio stood behind Tim and placed his hands on the younger man's shoulders, briefly working the tense muscle beneath his shirt, just enough to elicit a small groan.

"Not carried away, Tim, just…committed… deeply committed." Horatio teased and laid a kiss on Tim's neck with a smile. Tim's eyes closed as he reveled in the sensation. H would have kept going. Tim would have let him. Hell, they both could have cleared the table right there, but they had a job to be done. They both knew this would have to wait. "So," H continued, looking at the parts spread out on the table, "what have you got for me?"
