"Dogs are man's best friend Greg." Nick Stokes said to the young man, Greg Sanders, who sat on their apartment couch, flipping through TV channels.
"And what? I'm not good enough?"
"No baby that's not what I meant." Nick said as he sat down next to Greg, running his fingers through Greg's odd and crazy hair.
Greg flinched away from Nick's touch. "You know I hate dogs."
"I'm not getting a cat."
"I like cats."
Nick groaned and rolled his eyes. "I'm getting a dog if you like it or not. Now," he said as he stood up from the seat. "You want to come?"
"No."
"You sure?"
"Positive."
A playful smile formed across Nick's lips. "Well, I guess there are other guys that like dogs just like me that I might want to meet."
The lab tech/CSI sat there for moment thinking about what Nick had just said and quickly turned off the TV. "I'm coming."
"I know you too well." Nick told Greg as he tossed Greg's jacket at him.
"Yeah and I'm not to sure I like that." Greg said as Nick laughed before pulling open the apartment door, stepping outside and down the hallway with Greg following behind.

"Man! Nick look at these!" Greg pointed at the ferrets that were chasing one another around their glassed cage.
"Those are mean creatures." Nick told him as he walked down the aisle leading towards the dogs.
Greg soon rejoined Nick, after getting dizzy from watching the ferrets run around in circles, and sighed. "What one are you getting?"
"Not sure," he responded as he looked at each dog, "I think I want the puppy German Sheppard."
Greg raised a brow. "A police dog? Man, you've got to stop having work interfere with your daily life."
"Can I help you gentlemen?" the girl from the counter asked as she walked over to the two of them.
"Yes, can I get this German Sheppard right here?" Nick asked as the red haired girl smiled at him.
"Of course." She said nodding as she opened the dog's cage and pulled him out. "He doesn't seem to have a name yet," she said looking at the dog's blank name tag. "So I'll leave the naming to you."
"How much are those ferrets?" Greg randomly asked as Nick shot a glare at him.
"No ferrets Greg." Nick told him.
The lab tech frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. "No ferrets Greg." He said mimicking Nick.
Nick just ignored him.

"I heard from a source that you bought a dog." Sara said as she walked in on Nick who was pouring himself a cup of coffee.
Sara and Warrick were the only two at the crime lab that new the truth behind Nick and Greg's "relationship". Grissom and Catherine just thought that Nick and Greg were really close friends, almost like brothers. Nick knew Sara and Warrick would understand and they did.
"Greg hates Browser."
Sara's brow rose. "Who's Browser?"
He turned to look at her and smiled. "That's the dog's name."
"What?" Sara asked surprised at the odd name. "Why Browser?"
Nick's face flushed. "Was the first boss Greg and I defeated together at this video game,"
"Personally," Sara said as she took her turn to get a warm cup of coffee, "My favorite game is Tetris."
"How boring,"
"It's not boring," she protested as she finished getting her coffee together.
"Who wants to put blocks together?"
"Someone like me,"
Nick smirked. "Aren't you special?"
Sara shook her head and playfully hit him on the arm. "Go find Greggo."
"What? I thought he was staying at home today; said he wasn't feeling too well."
"I passed him in the halls. He looks pretty mad."

"You smell like piss," Hodges told Greg as he ran the new CSI's evidence through the computer.
"Thanks for noticing," Greg said sarcastically.
"Did you pee on yourself while going to the bathroom?"
Greg glared at Hodges. "No, Ni- a dog on the side walk today decided to piss on me."
Hodges couldn't help but snort a laugh. "How on earth?"
Then Nick walked in.
"Hey Greg, Um, I have some evidence that I need you to look at." Nick lied, hoping to get a chance to talk to Greg privately.
Greg's brow rose. "What? Oh," he finally figured out Nick's plan. "Oh right. Coming." He said as he followed Nick out and into another empty room. "What's up?"
"Sara said you wanted to see me."
"Oh yeah, smell something?"
"What?" Nick asked at the odd question.
"Smell me."
Following Greg's orders, Nick leaned in and smelled the young man's shirt. His brow furrowed as he looked up at Greg's upset looking face. "Is that pee?"
"Oh, not just any pee, your dog's pee."
Nick began to laugh and Greg glared at him. "I'm sorry man," Nick apologized to Greg, "but how did my dog's pee get on you?"
Greg sighed as he sat down in one of the lab chairs. "I was in the shower-Nick, wipe that smirk off your face- anyway, so, the dog decided to wet my clothes and I didn't realize it when I put them on until I got to work and everyone gave me this weird look. I tried everything, from perfume to even lemons."
Nick smiled at the thought of when he had to use lemons one time after a body decomposed in a bag that he and Sara were working on. "So, nothing works?"
Greg nodded his head. "I smell like waste."
"I like you better when you smell like that soap wash you use."
The lab tech raised his eyebrow. "You really like that stuff?"
Nick smirked and nodded.
Then Greg smirked. "Guess you know where I'll be when you get home."
