She can be so stubborn sometimes!

Brilliant scientist and a woman as she is, there are still moments when she keeps resisting, even when the answer is staring her straight in the face.

At first, I didn't want to accept it. And why should I?

Although I'm determined as I've always been, there is only so much I can do.

So I let my eyes wander, casting long, lingering looks on her face, when her attention is directed elsewhere. I follow her footsteps, allowing myself to be drawn into her beauty. I simply try to be with her, even offering my help, even if it is for the sole purpose of being closer to her.

But she still doesn't notice.

It hurts me, I have to admit.

Sometimes, all I want is to shake her, wake her up from this sleep of self-denial!

I try a different approach, even though it pains me to try and guilt her into finally letting down her barriers.

But I guess I underestimated her. She doesn't take the bait.

And so she keeps eluding me, in ways that never cease to amaze, thus successfully denying what she herself has known all along.

But I'm patient. I'll wait.

After all, she may be the most infuriating, the most annoying person I've ever known, with a fiery temper and social ineptness, which actually, for all it's worth, is really just a cover.

But she's also wonderfully passionate about what she does.

She spends hours working on a case, searching for that impeccable piece of evidence, that will help her put the bad guys away.

She's dedicated to her work and genuinely cares about what will happen to the people involved, even though she doesn't always express it in the best way.

She's tough as nails when needs be, but there can be no mistaking her kind and honest heart.

My beautiful Sara.

She walks beside me, as we talk, and even though she may still hide her feelings from me, I know my girl and I know she will be mine.

And it's not a matter of if.

It's a matter of when.

The End
