Nothing could touch them when they were within this circle of fire.

Jamie looked down at the Doctor beneath him, taking in every aspect of his love's face. He could read the pleasure that was written so openly on those beautiful features.

He could also read the desire -- and feel it with every breath he took. This fire that leaped and circled around them would only grow more incandescent with each passing moment, until they were consumed by it and found the ultimate pleasure.

Every time he made love to the Doctor, it seemed to get better. Jamie was sure that it always would, that they would always be able to take more and more pleasure in each other.

That was the way it should always be.

That circle of flame rose ever higher around them, threatening to overtake them and drown them in pleasure. Jamie gasped, trying to hold on to his control.

It was always like this when he was with the Doctor; try as he might to maintain his control, it was so hard for him to do when faced with the pleasure that simply touching his love could give him. Just thinking about it was almost enough for that control to snap.

But he wasn't going to let that happen now, he told himself firmly. He was determined to make this last as long as he could, to draw out the pleasure for them both.

Still, it was more easily said than done; the feel of his lover's body beneath his, the tight heat that he was thrusting into, combined to stretch his control to the breaking point.

How could he be expected to maintain that iron control, to hold himself back, when all he wanted to do was to lose himself in this fiery heat that surrounded him? He wanted nothing more than to surrender to this wild sweet passion, to let it take him wherever it would.

His hearts were racing, his pulse pounding, his breath coming in gasps. Only a few more moments, a few more thrusts, and his control would shatter.

When it did, he couldn't hold back a soft cry.

He was flying towards the stars, touching the heavens; the flames around him were growing higher, hotter, threatening to burn him to nothing more than a pile of ash.

And when he came back down to earth again, the Doctor was held in his embrace, the Time Lord's two hearts beating close against his own, in synchronicity. They were together, as they should be -- as they always would be, until the very end of time itself.

This was where he belonged, the only place that he ever wanted to be. Safe and loved in his lover's arms, that circle of fire still surrounding them.

With a soft smile, he brushed his lips across the Doctor's in a soft, gentle kiss.

With that one movement, the circle of fire stirred again, the flames of passion leaping ever higher.
