Zeke looked around as he neared the restaurant, but he didn't see Jordan anywhere on the street, though quite a few people were walking by.

That was okay, he thought as he glanced at his watch. He was ten minutes early; Jordan still had plenty of time to get here. He wasn't late, and even if he didn't make it here exactly on time, he could be forgiven for that.

After all, it was New York, and he had said that he'd be walking here, since the room he rented wasn't far from the restaurant they'd chosen to meet at.

Zeke could feel butterflies floating around in his stomach; he hadn't been this nervous about a date in a very long time. But Jordan wasn't like anyone else he'd been out with; this man was special in a way that he couldn't define.

There was something about Jordan that made his heart sing.

Was he already falling for this guy? That was hard to believe; he usually held himself back in relationships, caution being his byword.

Not that he couldn't immerse himself when he felt that the time was right. But he usually wanted to take his time, get to know a person before he jumped into anything. He'd been burned too many times in the past to take chances.

But there was something about Jordan that made him want to dive right in to whatever they might share in the future, to take a bite and enjoy it fully.

Jordan was the first person he'd met in a long time that he was interested in, and he was sure that the other man felt the same way about him.

He could tell that there was something Jordan was holding back, some kind of secret he was keeping, but he hoped that they could talk about that tonight and that Jordan would come to trust him and reveal that secret.

If he didn't, then that was all right, too. Jordan might be the sort of person who wanted to get to know him before he shared deep confidences.

Zeke was sure that they would become closer as time went on.

He didn't intend to let Jordan simply walk out of his life, now that they'd found each other. He felt a connection that he wanted to explore.

He wanted them both to reach out, to learn to trust each other, to take a bit out of life and savor it together. He had never felt such an attraction to anyone, and he was ready to act on that attraction, even though it might be a bit soon.

When he looked around again, Zeke saw Jordan walking quickly down the street; he couldn't hold back the smile that suffused his features.

He could feel his heart leaping in his chest at the mere sight of the other man, and at this point, he didn't ever want it to stop.
