Title: Irrational Fears
By: Jennie-x
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Rating: PG
Note: This has been written by a moment of randomness when I looked up at the ceiling ready to go to bed, when I saw a spider and ran downstairs in the living room with the laptop. :D
Summary: Ianto and Jack are scared of spiders. Fluff.

Ianto smiled as he felt Jack's grip tighten on him; Jack was always slightly possessive after sex. Grinning, Ianto placed a soft kiss to Jack's head before turning around to get comfortable. He looked up at the ceiling, noticing all the cracks. As a kid when his insomnia hit he would make patterns from the cracks in the ceiling. He made a few patterns before his body stiffened. He gulped. He looked up and shivered. Directly above his head, on his pale ceiling was a spider. Not a small spider, but not a huge spider. Just a spider.

And that was enough to make him want to run out of the room.

Ianto snuggled closer to Jack, holding tighter trying not to think about what was above his head. He felt Jack's grip on him and tried to think of things to distract him.

Jack's mouth.

Jack's smile.

Jack's laugh.

The spider.

Above my head.

A fucking spider.

Doing the only rational thing he could, Ianto pulled himself away from Jack and ran into the living room. He knew he was being slightly irrational, but to him it was rational. He hated spiders. He sat on his sofa, now wishing he had something on. He grabbed the blanket from the sofa, it was a thin piece of material, he wrapped it around him and flicked the telly on.

He stared at the flashing images on the screen but his mind was on that stupid spider above his bed. When he was younger, his dad would kill the spiders for him. But now, his dad wasn't there.

"Why you sat in here?" Jack asked, he was completely naked, and Ianto couldn't help but smile. "So? Why are you sat in here on your own?"

"I'm... couldn't sleep." Ianto stuttered. Because he couldn't tell Jack the truth. "Why are you in here?" Jack blushed and sat down next to Ianto on the sofa.

"Don't laugh?" Jack grinned, wrapping an arm around Ianto.

"Promise." Ianto smiled, as he snuggled closer.

"There was a spider in your room." Ianto couldn't help but laugh. "You said you wouldn't laugh at me!"

"I'm not. That's the reason I'm in here." Ianto blushed. Jack joined in with the laughter. "Right pair we make."

"We fight aliens for a living, yet a small spider scares us out of bed." Jack sighed.

"I'm not going back in there until you kill it." Ianto said as he tried to get comfortable on his bed.

"But.. I'm not going in there until you kill it." Jack laughed.

"Then I'm sleeping here. You can sleep on the floor until you kill that damn spider." Ianto moaned.

"But..."

"Night Jack." Ianto yawned, getting comfortable on the sofa, pushing Jack on the floor. Jack went to protest but looked up to see Ianto already asleep.

"Night, Yan." He whispered as he grabbed his coat, wrapped it around himself and sat on the floor. Glad that he didn't need that much sleep, because until someone killed that spider, he wasn't going back in Ianto's room again. "Looks like we're sleeping at the hub for a week at least."
