Notes: Drabble written for the tw100 "Shadows" challenge. Another weird one that has wanted out for a while. :) Spoilers for TW 1.05, Small Worlds.

It disturbed her that she couldn't recall the crash. They had died – her partner, her daughter – while she escaped unscathed but for her mind. They'd died, but it didn't feel real.

And then she returned home to empty rooms and shadowed silence.

And remembered.

Remembered the monsters that murdered Roy, remembered shrieking her grief and hate against the man who surrendered Jasmine to them.

And remembered the cold and distant look that had always shone in her daughter's eyes.

Lynn Pierce laid a careful hand against her belly, grateful that she had waited to tell Jasmine about her new brother.
