"Summer afternoon - summer afternoon;

to me those have always been the two most

beautiful words in the English language."

Henry James

Ianto turned the page of his book with a content smile. It was a rare chance that he would have enough time to read a page, let alone three chapters in one day. The simple pleasure of reading a good book always made him feel some what normal. But the fact that he was enjoying such a good book (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) on such a beautiful day made him happy. Peaceful. He had been sat under a large oak tree for three hours now, just reading and listening to everyone around him buzz with excitement. He smiled again, something he had done at least ten times in the past hour alone.

"What's a beautiful young Welsh lad doing sat under a tree on your own on such a lovely day?" The familiar American accent made Ianto shiver slightly – it always did.

"Sometimes, its nice to have my own company," Ianto smirked, he knew Jack would take it the wrong way. Pouting slightly, Jack went to walk away. "Though, company would definitely be good."

Jack sat down next to Ianto who shifted slightly so he was leaning on Jack. "You read Harry Potter?" Jack laughed. Ianto looked up, wondering whether he needed to defend his reading material. "Not that there's anything wrong with it," Jack smiled as though he could read what his young lover was thinking. "Just I would have thought you would have read reality based books, instead of diving deeper into a land of science fiction and fantasy."

"Well sometimes Harry Potter is easier to believe," Ianto smiled.

"This is nice," Jack mused as he wrapped an arm around Ianto's tee-shirt covered waist. It was rare to see the youngest member of his team look his age, and it was always a pleasure to see him wear simple clothes like jeans and tight fitted tees.

"What is?" Ianto asked, he snuggled closer. Neither one was too big on public displays of affection, but neither could resist.

"This. I don't think I've enjoyed a beautiful summers day as much as I am today in a very long time," He placed a gentle kiss to Ianto's forehead, and smiled as a flush crept on his lovers cheek and neck.

"Summer afternoons are the two most beautiful words in the English language," Ianto quoted making Jack chuckle slightly.

"They are good," Jack smirked, "Though I have two even better words."

"And they would be?"

"Ice cream."
