Greg woke up with a sore throat and the feeling of the dried semen remaining on his cheeks from when he had coughed it up when the man had finished. His blindfold was wet from tears and sweat and clung to his closed eyes. His feet were no longer bound and he was covered with the blanket that the man had given to him for being a 'good boy.' His wrist hurt more than ever.

He tried to pull himself into a ball, but the stain on his wrist was too great. He heard the door open again and he cringed with fear. But then involuntarily relaxed when he noticed the footsteps were different this time, lighter almost. He felt a warm washcloth pressed against his face to clean him up. The blindfold was removed and he was actually glad to see Kelly Gordon's face.

"Sorry that happened, Greg." The woman who had threatened to rape him earlier actually sounded remorseful about what had happened in her absence. She continued to wash his face. "I'm going to untie your wrists, but you can't fight me – he's right outside."

She released his arms and they fell to his sides. Even if he had wanted to fight her, his blood loss was too severe and his arms weakened by being enchained for days.

"He told me it was Monday." His voice was scratchy and weak. She handed him a glass of water.

"It's closer to Tuesday now."

"I need to use the bathroom."

She pointed to an opening on the other side of the room; there was no door, but at least he would be able to go by himself. She handed him a pair of shorts, which he slid into gratefully. When he returned, he noticed that his original chair had been removed, and the blood had been cleaned up. Kelly was changing the sheets on the bed.

"Are you hungry?"

Greg felt too sick about what had happened to be able to eat much, but he knew he needed it. "Yes, please. And could I have some juice... and, maybe some aspirin?" He knew he was pushing his luck by asking for the last thing, but his wrist hurt very badly.

She pulled the new sheets onto the bed. "You can have all those things. I'm going to leave you alone in here – without tying you up. I need your word you won't move from the bed when I come in. The man would love for you to act up and get a chance with you again." She never called him anything but the man – she seemed afraid of him too.

Greg sat down on the bed; he was dizzy from standing too long. "I promise to be right here when you come back."

She looked at him once more and left him alone.

....

The team was sitting around a table, picking at their lunches. None of them had gotten much sleep in days, and they were haggard and frustrated. Nothing was going their way, until they saw Archie burst into the room.

His eyes were red and he looked like he was living off of intravenous caffeine, but he was holding a picture excitedly in his hand. "I managed to pull a frame!" He handed the picture to Nick, who recognized it immediately.

"This is the flower that Kelly Gordon's cellmate put on her hand. It's Kelly Gordon!" He jumped out of his chair and threw his arms around Archie. For the first time in days they actually had a break, no matter how small it might be.

Grissom had already pulled out his cell phone and was standing in the corner, telling Brass to get Kelly into the station as soon as possible. The atmosphere in the room almost bordered on joyous.

Sara didn't want to break the celebration, but knew she had to. "Everybody needs to calm down." Everyone in the room turned and stared at her. "We still can't say that the two events are even related. We've managed to nail her for Sylvia's murder, but where is the connection to Greg?" She drew in a heavy breath. "And should we call her in right away? If she is involved in both cases, then calling her in might force her to kill Greg." If he's still alive was the part she said only in her head.

Everyone stopped still in place. They had been so excited to get anything; they had forgotten the repercussions. They could hear Grissom talking to Brass about wanting more information about Kelly Gordon and seeing if they could get someone to tail her, but not bring her in.

Nick felt his head swimming – he hadn't slept – he had only napped when his body was unable to remain upright any longer, he barely ate – he had given up hope, just to have it forced back on him and then taken away again.

....

They were unable to find Kelly Gordon anywhere. It was now Tuesday and she seemed to have dropped off the map – she hadn't shown up for work and there was no one in her dank apartment – which CSI had searched in hopes that they would find something that related to Greg. What they had found was a half-empty closet and missing toiletries. She had packed for something, and it didn't look like she was coming back anytime soon.

Nick left the scene after being forced home by Grissom. He realized that everyone else had been running home for sleep and showers while he had remained at the lab. He had showered there and relied on his spare set of clothes; so he had only changed twice since Friday.

He felt guilty as he showered and changed into clean clothes. He bet that Greg didn't get that luxury... wherever he was. He was still thinking about Greg as he fell asleep.

After four hours, Nick woke up and looked at the clock. Four hours and still no break in the case and no sign of Kelly because his cell phone hadn't rung the whole time he had been out. He lifted himself off the couch and went to the kitchen to make coffee. While he waited for it to drip he went outside to get his mail.

Everything was normal until he felt a large manila envelope shoved into the bottom of the box. Carefully, he pulled it out and opened it. It was a picture of Greg – naked, bound and choking up something. Nick felt his whole body shake and he barely managed to call Grissom on speed dial to get him to come over.

He belongs to someone else now, CSI guy.
